Holland world cup 2010 nike shirt design

Dutch newspaper NRC today published the new home and away shirts of the Netherlands, the home shirt of Brazil and the away shirt of Portugal (published earlier at FSC). The new Holland 10/12 kits will be available through the FSC shop after the official launch.

The Dutch home shirt is quite basic with black stripes on the sleeves and a white vertical stripes on the side. The Brazilian home shirt is also quite basic.

Nike actively tries to stop ‘leaks’ of its new shirts, which will be presented later this spring It now turns out that Nike itself published the shirts on the Internet.

Legal people at Nike have registered photos of all national team shirts sponsored by Nike as a ‘registered design’ at the European Design Office.

Intellectual property specialist Diederik Stols explains: “It is logical that sports companies around the world register just about anything in an attempt to monopolize the market for national shirts. Nike did just that. But they should better have registered the designs one day before the official presentation, because the designs are now publicly accessible via the Internet. This time around, Nike has leaked its own shirts”.

Footballshirtculture.com will bring you more details in the days to come.

I like the shirt but it's hard to tell what it would really look like on a person. No one can complain that Nike is being "too bland" for this World Cup. The shirts are definitely different.
