Whatever happened to that terrible crest introduced a couple of years back?

They actually tried that a couple of years ago - a new crest, I mean. Made a red, white and blue crest with a dragon-like creature in the middle, but due to a veritable sh#t-storm from the public, they were forced to retract the whole thing, new shirts and everything, from the market only a few days later. A minor scadal in Norway - the newspapers had a field day...

There's an old expression in Norway about "playing with the flag on your chest" (as a way of explaining the honour of being selected for the national team), the importance of which simply couldn't be underestimated, and that's why the norwegian "crest" still only depicts the norwegian flag.

(and FYI: the aforementioned "dragon-shirts" are today collectors items, you could get a pretty good price for them today, if you were fast enough to buy one in the short period of time they were actually available for sale.)

My buddy from Norway picked one up with the dragon crest and loved it. I personally loved the way it looked as well, and have been searching for one ever since.

That's unfortunate. Just using the flag as the crest makes the whole thing look like a lazy design.

It's like saying that Switzerland, Czech Republic and Austria are the same because they wear Puma red shirts. They can look similar, but they're not a copy of each other.

Same template as the Manchester City shirt?

Why? It's their crest, whether it's just a flag or not. It's no lazier a design than any other shirt where the team has their own traditional crest on it - it's a feature that never changes and that the designers have no influence over.

Neither - it's a football shirt

I think the flag on the shirt (in the circle) is great. I have several Norway "crest" shirts and they seem silly.

The flag is unique and the placement in the circle I think works for this shirt.

duuuuhh - CAPS LOCK.

From what I see between them playing France at the moment, I like it. The flag is their official crest. To non-Norwegians it is not. The latter should not critique, but respect :)

Aalsund, you took the words right out of my mouth. Why does Umbro make classy kits for every team but Norway? And why don't they sell them anywhere else in the world--I've been trying to buy one for years.

I think the design i quite boring, without being that classy, like many of umbos other "boring" shirts. The only good thing is that the flag is still there. In Norway, you play with the flag on your chest. Its just how it is.

Norway used to its own crest for a while used in the 80` and still have but its taken away from the shirt now(In these times we had adidas and Hummel...) . Sad because it used to complement the shirt quite well, even tough it was only the letters NFF(Norwegian Football Association) and their logo.
