Adidas unveiled the new 10/12 Spain Home football kit which is available through the FSC Shop now.

Xavi Hernandez, Marchena, Xabi Alonso, Negredo, David Villa and of course Iker Casillas presented the new World Cup 2010 kit.

Inspired by the shirt designs of the 1980s', the new home shirt is characterized by a more subdued shade of red than in previous shirt, and includes a blue trim at the neck and sleeves. The shorts changed from dark blue to Satellite/Collegiate Gold and shows the national flag.

The new kit will be worn this weekend in the match against Argentina which is commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Spanish Football Federation.

Available now through the FSC Shop

Red socks are a rarity. Spain has never wore red socks in its 100 years of existence. Always blue or black... Anyway, not bad, of course better than the ConfeCup kit.

The GK shirt is surely a tribute to that worn by Andoni Zubizarreta in yesteryear

No, Jimbo.

Palop gave adidas the idea when in 2008 he paraded with Arconada's original jersey (of Euro 1984) when Spain won in Euro 2008.

True Jorge but do you agree we should have had the outfield shirts based more on the classic Adidas from 1982 WC.

I had sore misgivings about all this tech fit sh1t right. I have appeared on these pages under various alias's venting spleen about how these new Adidas kit's are not my beloved Adidas from my childhood. But once you look at them close up they're pretty impressive man. I know that Nike are not gonna be able to come back with anything like this. I'm an Adidas Original addict and have always had issues with 'new' Adidas. But I am completely converted. Gazhorn you were right I was wrong!

David I know what you mean - for me Adidas finished in 1992 with the new "equipment range" as the new logo started out as, I feel it was a business decision to allow them to run Adidas originals as a separate company. I have only worn originals since then whether trainers or TT's. But when it comes to kits - how the hell can Adidas not reproduce their 80's classics.

OMG A RED SHIRT!

This is SHITE!

Russia, Germany, South Africa and Japan have wonderful kits this year.

Spain, does not.

This is a terrible kit it all honestly, it lacks imagination and style.

I really like it.

I like this shade of red
I love the electric blue shorts, like I loved them in the WC06
The red socks are very aggressive. Nice choice

I just don't understand why the blue trim on the collar isn't continuous.

But the top is the GK shirt..it reminded me something..so I looked for some Zubizzarreta's pictures and that's what I've found

Love it

Ugliest GK kit ever! I like the shirt for the field players but the shorts not so much. Can they get any brighter. What's up with the navy blue on the socks but nowhere else. I believe this is a miss by Spain. The only Adidas kit that's been an improvement has been Russia.

On the Casillas kit, people still somehow bring up Zubizarreta. Yet Arconada first wore that design for Euro 1984, and when Spain won Euro 2008, Spain's 3rd GK Palop ran around with Arconada's orginal jersey from the 1984 final. Yes, Arconada let Palop borrow that jersey.
So of course adidas saw that and got the idea.

guys, always remember adidas can only do as much as the federations allow them to do, the federations make the final call on their jersey, in the end this is what the FEF signed off ,but i must agree that Germany, South Africa & Russia have better jerseys, Saying this, nike won't come up with anything close to this for any of their teams. adi made the 1st screw in stud for boots, for 2010 adidas have innovated like no other brand can with their techfit federations jersey, in the future this will be the norm for football jerseys, the world is changing and for those who don't like it, get use to it!

Not bad but the lack of a shadow image like the Japanese and Russian kits have makes this look quite ordinary. I am not sure about the paleish blue shorts. Nice touch though with the classic Zubizaretta GK kit.

are you ppl wise enough to conclude that adidas are alternating the color of spains kit every 2 years.. last one was burgundy with navy shorts.. and now we see the bright red and blue !!! but this time its extremely bright ... its not about new ideas or creativity; its about changing to sell !!

I think the lighting in all of these is a bit off, sometimes it has that nice darker tone of the Confederations kit, or in others it seems to be very bright verging on a pink-ish tone.
Haven't seen it in a match yet, so I'll judge then.
The pattern is a bit dull too, could have done with the dynamism of the France kit.

I know that .... I am huge fan of adidas , glad 2 c that the sales may rise in 2010 to be like in 2008 ..... but in my country we say "quality matters not quantity" .... in WC2006 ... the German , French and Argentinian kits (home and away) were superb .... but in this WC ... the kits are "GOOD" ... not "Superb" like WC2006 ....
So congrats adidas for the sales .... but I hope for better designs to prove that u r still no.1 in football .. 8)

Why should we congratulate Adidas for the qualification of Nigeria eg (and now we'll have to see their horrendous teamwear jersey at the wc)?

I will say this though...in 02 and 06 all home jerseys essentially had the same design. At least this time around Adidas has produced individual jerseys for the teams.

The blue pieces on the collar should connect, not sure why, but that bothers me. Also the shorts are shockingly blue. Too bright. Last thing, this Techfit shit on the back is the single worst idea in football shirts. Keep that for the undershirt if you must, but it looks like absolute hell on the shirt.

Ex. Russia

http://www.footballshirtculture.com/images/image/Russia-10-12-home-adidas-kit-4.jpg

That is absolute shit. I wouldn't touch that with a 10 ft pole.

Liking the red socks but not the new shade of blue shorts. I think the shirt design is alright (apart from maybe the unconnected sections of blue on the collar) but what really gets me is the shape of the shirt. Not just with this one, but a lot of the new adidas releases too. This one even has "Powerweb" lining on the back, technology that is normally reserved for adidas BASELAYERS. Basically adidas is making a shirt designed to be SKIN TIGHT!!! sorry but that just doesn't cut it for me and it certainly won't look good on some of the supporters with beer guts
