Stiliyan Petrov, Brad Friedel, Carlos Cuellar, Richard Dunne and Stewart Downing revealed Villa's new 2010-11 home, away and Goalkeeper kits at an open-air event on Centenary Square at The ICC Birmingham on Thursday, July 15.

Aston Villa captain Stiliyan Petrov said: "We would love for our fans to support this event as we are all looking forward to an exciting season ahead. The new shirt looks great, too!"

FxPro is Aston Villa's principal club partner having recently agreed a deal which will see the foreign exchange broker's logo appear on the club's shirt for the next three seasons.

FxPro Director Denis Sukhotin commented: "The Aston Villa shirt unveiling will introduce fans to FxPro and kick off a relationship which is very exciting for both parties.

"Aston Villa is one of the great names in English football and we are proud to be a part of the club's future as they work hard to build on their success."

Away kit looks very smart with its Croatia-style chequer board design down the sides.

Why has the goalkeeper top got wind sock arms??!

No improvement from last season at all. Socks are dodgy, material looks cheap, keeper kit is an embarassment.

White socks would have been an improvement

Nice away kit with the Croatia style chequerboard design under the arms.

Not sure about the goalkeeper top with wind sock arms!

A big step down from last season's kits. Very uninspiring and bland. You can do little with claret shirts with light blue sleeves - so it's the details that matter most. Even if the home was supposed to be retro it's way worse than Burnley's home from last season. And the away is miles behind the "England-inspired" away kit from this season.

why are nike going back to retro its like they completely lost all there designs but anyway i like the away kit!!!

was anticipating a black or yellow away strip as we are keeping the white as a 3rd. i like both outfield kits, simple but also not complete templates due to the checkered pattern. goalkeeper shirt is horrible though, i expect something similar but in green or grey for away games at wolves and blackpool

The home and away shirts have really grown on me, not the GK though. As for the previous comments about the shirt being a template, what a load of sh*t....

They've grown on you? They've been out for a day. And the shirt uses the same template as Barcelona, look at the sleeves, just with different colors and detail.

2007/08:
Great first home & away kit from Nike, loved the away kit, off to a promising start. Bought the Home Kit

2008/09:
Home kit probably my favourite villa kit of all time, away kit wasn’t too bad either, 3rd shirt was pointless. Bought the Home Kit

2009/10:
Home kit was too plain for my liking but liked the ‘England inspired ’away kit. Bought the actual England away kit instead as world cup year.

2010/11
Home kit is nice, I like the cheque boxes but feel a blue collar would have made the kit look so much better. The away kit isn’t great (I think it will be a grower but certainly not as good as the last 3), would have preferred to seen a white sponsor logo. – will probably buy the home kit and/or the blue training top.

Overall I like the Nike Kits as remember the cheap Hummel and Diadora kits we had before. I have the 2006/07 hummel kit and the quality of nike is so much better. I go running in my Nike kits, I would feel to hot running in the hummel.

Tacky sponsors saying below there name is awful, goalkeeper kit horrendous, like the away but the sponsors name should be blue. Not alot of changes once again to home.

The GK top is the same one Van Der Sar will be wearing for Man Utd. It's not shown on this site, but he's on the catalogue for the new shirt. Possibly all nike GK tops will be that style this season?

Sponsorship (same as Fulham's) is totally ridiculous. How many Villa fans are actually going to "trade Forex like a pro" (whatever that is)? Expected better from Villa as acorns was a local charity. Generally pissed off at fans walking around as sandwich boards for any old irrelevant tut / scams.

Good spot Dubu, they are the identical template.
Disappointing kits really - I'd heard rumour of 'retro' style kits based on the '80-81 style home and away shirts being used this season, yet they failed to materialise. Nike haven't even had the good grace to give us their new template, it seems!

Aussiewhite we didnt wear this in the 06 world cup...it is however an old tremplate from last year but i love it

and to unstahorn i think accorns will be happy with us getting them as our sponsor as it means they are getting more money from us, seeing this is largest sponsorship deal in villas history

are you people blind? i see a great home kit. its clean, classy and modern. most of all classy. at first i thought it only had one blue sleeve which would look really nice but i love the blue tipped sleeves. the away kit is also clean. 5/5 great job nike
