birmingham city 10-11 xstep kit vote

For the first time in many years Birmingham City Football Club is giving the fans the chance to have a say on the design of the new 2010/11 home kit made by Xtep.

When the new Board took the club over last October they pledged to work more closely with the supporters, who they acknowledge are the lifeblood of the club.

This kit poll is just part of that ongoing commitment, so make sure your voice is heard by voting now.

There is a shortlist of four possible designs to choose from.

Once you have selected your favourite, please let us know.

Voting ends Friday 9th April, so cast your vote and make your opinion count!

Absolutely embarrassed to have those mock ups associated with my club.

Any idiot with photoshop could've rustled them up in five minutes. Pathetic.

Looking at what clubs such as Darlington have done by getting real graphic designers to create detailed mock ups of potential kits, Blues should really be ashamed that they officially released this tripe into the public eye.

There are hundreds of amateur designs like me who could've put a lot more time and effort to create much better designs than this.

Pathetic.

A is pub league style. B is boring. C reminds me of something a third rate manufacturer would rustle up for Ipswich and D reminds me of rugby league St.Helens...and the less said about it the better.

Awful

First i have heard of this brand...but i think its good to see most clubs ditch Umbro, due to most clubs contracted with them in the english leagues, well less now than it was of the beginning of the 07-08 season. Yes umbro made good designs but its kind off rubbish not seeing any creativity and individualism of kit design in the top flight with the over uses of umbro templates. So thats why i do like the news of Birmingham joining this brand and the news of west ham contracted with Macron...but maybe if Birmingham signed a deal with Lotto or maybe with Canterbury if it didnt go bust then i think we could of seen a smashing kit. Anyway out of this lot, D.
P.S there is not much if not any creative and individual kit design at all now...we're mostly seeing repetition and overused templates :(, some brands have to pull their fingers out for next season majorly. Football is money driven these days and is making it all black and white...at least make the kit design florish so it can make our game that little bit more vibrant...sorry guys i just love design and art alot, combining that passion of mine with my other passion of football is a big deal for me...jesus christ thats a bloody mouthful!

Xtep might look poor but this is their first time creating kits for a European market. I like D, its something different, Birmingham have had too many kits the same in the last decade or so and its time to look for something different!

Granted D is the man united V shape from this year but if you look at the rest they are all similar to any previous kits we have had!

First, it is a shame that Birmingham City are leaving Umbro, a far superior manufacturer. Second , it is a shame that Xtep ripped off the template from FMGLive to showcase their kits.

All of this aside I think that D is the only acceptable one, even if it still sucks. The white on the sides going up through the chest stripe is just ghastly. If they would remove that and just leave the chest stripe that would look good.

I wouldn't purchase any of these though.

in order of preference, D, A C, B. D is not a copy of Man Utd's kit, it's a re-do of one of our historical kits from the 1920's see link - http://pictures.footymad.net/upload/69/99964-4.jpg . Xtep raised eyebrows at first but they are quality upcoming sportswear company with a reputation in the Far East similar to the reputation Nike/Adidas has in Europe and America. you will see more of Xtep in the future. btw don't listen to willbcfc he is just bitter that none of the kits look like one's that he designed. Keep Right On! (VOTE D!!!)

What people need to realise is that THE ACTUAL KIT WON'T LOOK ANYWHERE NEAR AS TACKY AS THESE MOCK UPS.

They are in fact simple downloadable free kit templates, which any chimp with a copy of Photoshop can edit with a few clicks.

These mock ups weren't made by Xtep, but were released by some fool in the PR department to give the Chinese an idea of what the fans want.

It's just a shame they didn't take any time and care over them.

Penguin strip aside, Brummigam havn't had a decent kit since that spell when they were in the prem for 4 or 5 years on the bounce - downhill every year. Thatz why we have so many US & European big brands produce in China ( & more in Vietnam & Cambodia now)....... ppl ditch Chinese products just because they hv no more biz.
so why not try China sportswear? i guess sth you now wearing are produce in China too. Take it off if you hate cheapy China products. hahaha
