I'm sorry but I have to disagree. I think it's absolutely STUNNING! I wouldn't mind being taken up the Shed End by a few of them strapping Chelsea hunks! Lampard and JT? Yes please!

Ciao darlings! x

Great shirt.
Classy V Neck.
Adidas badge on the Left.
No stupid break in the stripes.

Red Accent is nice. Throw back to their older kits. Gives the kit some character and differentiates it from the 'teamwear look.'

maybe the reason why they put the red collar on there shirt,is that if you look at the logo of Chelsea, they have red flowers on it. or because they just want to bring the history back.

By the way:i think that it is a nice shirt,10 plus for me

Well, it's a lot better than the current kit, indeed... The red stripe is a little strange for me just because a haven't been used to that (you say it's a retro detail so it's fine). Adidas Premier league shirts are going very well!

The Red isn't such a big deal, it always used to be the trim colour in the 80's and early 90's. And they used to wear a Red track top in the 70's. They only introduced the yellow in 1995.
Still, the placement looks pretty wierd.
It looks like they've run out of Blue fabric.

I know Chelsea used to wear red as an away colour and trim colour once upon a time, but people realise that any red in London does not mean Chelsea.

It is a nice, simple clean kit though, not much different to this year's.

Why do the jerseys need to so form-fitting?
Reply | Reply with quote | Quote

0 # 2010-04-14 16:21
because it is to do with stream lining, and helps the players to run faster as there is less air caught inside the fabric of the kit. This gives them like a ten millionth of a second advantage lol

I like the MLS kits better than our English ones. Thats just wrong! We should have the best designs, in the best league in the world.

I think if they're going to commit to a red collar there should at least be some red trim elsewhere so as to make aesthetic sense. I get the historical use of red but it just doesn't work as is. The socks are by far the best park of this kit.

I like it, a simple, slick design. Not eaxactly earth-shatteringly original though, but certainly a lot better than the latest adidas effort for Liverpool.

Would have been better if there was some (small) reference to the red on the shorts as well.

Presume that like the adidas WC shirts the non "Tech Fit" version is the one that will be on general sale.

It is NOT traditional, it appeared on horrendous Umbro kits of the 80's/90's, I grant you but is not traditional as trim. Blue and White, please. Unfortunately the kit change every year makes Adidas ever more ready to market any old crap. I won't be buying it as I think this season's is far more traditional.

I think this kit is definitely better than the current one though I still prefer the 100 years special edition is the best in my own collection. Our current home shirt, though people laugh at out kit has so called "build-in bra technology", we are going to win the duo-title, anything could even more delighting their fans than winning trophies. Nevertheless, as a true blue fans, I will for sure to buy regardless of design and colour.

Looking rather good imo

Hate the model and especially the collar of the current Chelsea home witch are also used by other teams like Bayern München, Salsburg ect.

Now we just need Kappa to skip their terrible "big bird poo on my shoulder" logo so kappa shirts look cool too..

For censored's sake that is NOT "John-I-banged-Bridge's-girl-and-a-Champions-League-Final-goalpost-Terry"

Wake up 'n smell the coffee......smell it yet? It's Fat Frank!

Can't say I look up to either of those fellas during their club performances; however, putting on the shirt of your country is an entirely different story...

i'm sorry Timmy, but I have to disagree, this reminds me more of the Stevenage 1947 third kit made by Dunlop
Reply | Reply with quote | Quote

+2 # 2010-05-09 19:49
Yes true, however, the kit Dunlop comissioned to Stevenage in 1947 had maroon pannels on the sleves instead of blood red (depicted on the Chelsea kit above). Tommy, you need to get your facts straight, it looks more like the 1912 Borussia Monchengladbach kit, made by Lotto

+3 # 2010-05-09 20:21
Ah Touche, Timothy, those maroon pannels were darling. I loved how they caressed the shorts at every angle. Simply emphatic.
I do agree though; the 1912 Borussia Monchengladbach kit had a certain charm to its ways. This, unfortunatly, does not. simply atrocious.

Im glad that you saw the errors of your ways Tommy. This Chelsea kit fails to hit the spot for me, I mean it does have the synthetic ACH fibers wound together to create a finer shirt but it lacks any....phisazz. 4.328 out of 10 for me. Actually, 4.183.
