Club Universitario de Deportes, also known as Universitario unveiled the new 2010 ' Tailored ' home and away football kits made by Umbro.
Universitario's colours are cream (crema in Spanish), red, burgundy (guinda in Spanish), and black. When playing a home game they use the cream-colored kit with black socks and when playing away they use the burgundy-colored kit with black socks.
The club's colours at first were not cream. They started out with a white kit which had the badge on the chest. During one of their early seasons, Universitario could not participate in an upcoming match because their uniforms had been sent to the laundry to be washed. The managers pleaded that they hurry with the laundry and they quickly washed them. However, when the club received the jerseys, they found that they were no longer white, but cream.
The laundry workers had forgotten to remove the badges from the jerseys and consequently the red color from the badges mixed with the white jerseys giving it a yellow tint. The club had no choice but to use the jersey to play. They managed to win that game and a few others as well and thus the club kept the new-coloured kit as a good-luck charm.
The badge is a red U inside a red circle drawn by Luis Malaga, one of the founders of the club.
Thanks to Eric

Notice the similarities in the cut? Id say it'll be pretty close to that...
Im sure the Universitario fans will be more than happy with this new kit...
SALUDOS
i hope rangers do anyway, those kits look and feel amazing
Fail
the only teams umbro felt were prestigous enough to use tailored kits are england and man city, rangers got normal designs similar to birmingham/west brom. as im sure you will be aware. draw your own conclusions, thanks.
All other teams had their kits for the current season designed prior to the "tailored" stuff. That is why they all have the older elongated Umbro logos on them. It has nothing to do with team prestige or anything else other than timing. This comes direct from the people on the Umbro blog, by the way.
Love these new Umbro kits though - everything stripped back to the essentials. I wish United were with them instead of Nike.
when umbro put a U on an england top it is a masterpiece
but when nike put the holland colours on a man united shirt they are idiots?
you get some real tossers in the world
The tailored stuff came to late for 2009-10 designs as someone has already pointed out and I would think that most of the Umbro contracted teams in the UK would be getting the same look. If so I am really looking forward to the kit designs. The colour on the away strip here is gorgeous.
The tailored stuff is more likely to happen with the UK teams as we already know that the stable of Umbro teams in the UK will decrease next season as Birmingham and West Ham have gone elsewhere.
If West Brom continue to not have a sponsor next season I think theirs will look stunning
