FC Barcelona 10/11 Home Shirt

This is the official FC Barcelona home kit for the 2010/11 season manufactured by Nike, which is available for pre-order Here.

Not on sale to the public until the 5th of June, FC Barcelona have chosen to officially unveil their new strips for the 2010/11 season today. The presentation of David Villa to the Barcelona faithful may have been one reason for the descision for such an early showing of the new kits.

The shirt contains just two red stripes compared to four from its previous incarnation. UNICEF remains as the clubs main shirt sponsor, a continuation of their deal to donate €1.5 million a year to the organization over a course of five years, to support UNICEF's programmes for children worldwide.

A new feature to the shirt is an all yellow round neck collar, something not seen before on previous Barça shirts, infact yellow as a tertiary colour has only been seen on the shirt during Nike's period of manufacturing for the current Spanish champions.

The Catalan team will also show off it's heritage by displaying a flag of Catalonia on the back of the collar. Also their is the writing 'Més que un club' (More than a club) on the left sleeve, the slogan symbolises how Barcelona is seen as an icon to the Catalan people and what Catalans stand for.

The shorts are red with a blue trim, the last time Barcelona played in red shorts was the 2004/05 season and were greeted with a mixed reception by fans. The socks are blue with a red band around the top, a yellow swoosh and FCB wrote on the calf.

The club will also wear the FIFA World Club Cup emblem until November/December time, until the next edition of the global club cup is played, where they will not get to defend their title.

I'll bet the away jersey will come with blue shorts, so they can mix and match as they please

I wonder if emphasising the red is about increasing visibility during home games. It can't be easy picking out their traditional colours, particularly during evening matches.

I would also prefer blue shorts and maybe a smaller collar...

but overall nice shirt, especially with david villa on it!

I see Barca is continuing its tradition of "finding the ugliest color possible for away kits."
Home kit is classic though.
But the socks in the picture have one major flaw: how will you get your feet in them?

I like the trim at the bottom of the sleeves - I think United's shirts would both have been improved with that detail. I don't understand why Nike add it to some shirts but not others.

nice design. i prefer the broad stripes to the thinner ones on this year's shirt. however, they should return to the blue pants

The collar is far too yellow, and the numbers look stupid. It's nice all-round though, I think red shorts look cool, it makes a change.

I like the red shorts, adds a bit of variety instead of always having blue .

the away kit is funking sheet.

Everything about the kit was fine apart from the red shorts. Mind you the last time they had red shorts, they won the Champions League...

as a fully paid Club member, im really not happy about red shorts. It breaks the clubs tradition. The fans were outraged about this the last time it happened. And as i said about the fake shirt that was leaked on this site a few weeks ago 'It cant be real because the middle stripe down the shirt ALWAYS has and ALWAYS will be blue'

I hate these red shorts...

They've only worn red shorts once (2005-06). Red shorts are totally not Barcelona!

oh, look, if you use a lighter yellow for the collar its a new shirt, 2 seasons ago anyone?!?!?! BORING!!

I have also seen the away kit, it's green with a half red and blue stripe across the chest that meets in the middle, again BORING!!! :zzz

The gold collar and cuffs are nice, and I like how they decided to switch it up and go with red shorts this time around. The socks are just OK, not bad but not great.

I think the kit would have looked so much nicer with blue shorts instead of red.
Also, the Away kit would have been brilliant if they'd gone for yellow instead of green, like the away from a couple of years ago.
