These are the new Adidas kits for Brazilian side Fluminense.

The shirt contains the tricolor of maroon, green and white in a striped formation, surely one of the most original looks in football across the world.

Formed in 1902 Fluminense, based in Rio de Janeiro, is a sport organization and are involved in many other sports than just football. They gained so much attention for their sporting activities that they were awarded the Olympic Cup in 1949 and wear the symbol of it on there shirt to this day, at the bottom of the shirt on the home and on the right side of the chest on the away shirt.

It's white, with parts of it on white. It bothers me a little if I look closely.

Do both the 'keepers have one leg longer than the other or are they just standing on a slope?

To me, the Fluminense colour scheme just shouldn't work.., Period. But strangely, it looks brilliant.

nice kit from Adidas IMO and good to see a shirt with stripes, without a plain, one colour, back.

Very attractive kit in an original colour scheme and i'm loving the interchangability between the 2 kits if clashes necessitate.

Top marks

I don't understand about the colours. Why shouldn't red/green/white work?
Portugal, Hungary, Morocco, Mexico.

Is it because of the stripes?

It's an odd colour scheme that's all. The National Teams that you mention, Portugal, Hungary etc.... are all plain shirted teams i.e. one colour is dominant on the shirts, with the other colour as an accent colour .

Fluminense mix the colours on their shirts and it works really well.

Could you envisage Portugal and Mexico with Green, white and burgandy striped shirts?

It works here, maybe not so on other teams.

i've always loved fluminenses's kit, but this a real winner, esp with the rugby shirt collar, it works really well with fluminenses's colour scheme. A classic (and i agree about the stripes on the back, good to see them these days)

all the shirts are amazing - those old school numbers are nice!
but why there is the same sponsor 4 (four) times on each kit?!

Its good to see the Adidas stripes go all the way down again instead of having a big gap at the bottom of the sleeves, its good to see that again :)

With all the pretty girls in Rio they could have picked a model who doesn't have a double chin. Nothing wrong with having a double chin....unless you make a living out of your looks.

A good kit, looking a little bit retro. Like it, in spite of thinking the red should be brighter. But it's a nice shirt.
About the away kit, one or two years ago Adidas made one for Fluminense in orange, and that one was awesome. This one in white brings nothing new.
