holland 10-12 nike home kit

Nike unveiled the New Holland 10/12 Home Kit which is designed for increased performance with lower environmental impact, and will be worn at the World Cup 2010. 8 plastic bottles are used to produce one jersey in the new Nike kit, which is available through the FSC Shop.

The innovative uniform is designed to keep the players drier, cooler and more comfortable to allow them to maintain an optimum body temperature and perform at their best on the field. With improved Nike Dri-Fit fabric, which is 13 percent lighter than before, players can stay drier by drawing sweat to the outside of the garment where it evaporates.

There are also ventilation zones on each side of the jersey – up to 200 tiny laser cut holes – so air can pass across a player’s whole torso to keep him cooler. There are also additional ventilation zones on the kit’s shorts below the waistband and near the space of the spine, areas that are prone to high sweat levels.

it's a great kit. No one cares what you think

i agree. It's generic b0ll0cks, always the same nike identikit bull and Holland is one of there biggest teams and they get this? A crappy Nederland transfer on tghe back, no identity, nothing unique.

What the hell are you talking about? Dutch identity is the orange colour. The shirt is orange. Period.

Well yes, surely the shade of orange is nice and the material looks good too, but that wasn't my point.
Nike is really getting on my nerves with their generic design for the WC.
We all want a unique kit for our countries and in my case; a mere Nederland writing on the back of the collar won't do the trick.
This shirt would have been better if they just used orange and black, instead of having white as a third color.
Also; when Nike launches our previous home kit, they said that the badge shaped like the kubuswoningen in Rotterdam would only be a one-off thing.
Instead: they used it again.
And the sleeve strips look just as horrid as they do on all of the other new Nike kits.
A simple trim on the edge of the sleeve would a done the trick; it wouldn't have looked original, but still it would have looked better than those strips.
I'm sorry Nike, you did a great job on our away kit, but you got our home kit completely wrong.

Btw: I apologise for my first comment being rather rude; the frustration just had to leave my mind when I just laid eyes on the kit.

i agree Kallenovsky, no ones opinion is greater than another but the " you're not even registered" gibe is a bit petty, come on.
AA(i assumethis stands for alcoholics anonymous), yes their colour is orange, but i want to see stories and new details, something different, a f0cking pair of clogs stitched on the back would have been better than nederland. PERIOD.

I apologize for the "not registered" part, but join, share your opinion, discuss and build community. Some guests post under new names all the time to avoid their mess when they trash someone's opinion for no reason. If Feyeno0rd doesn't like the kit, then too bad. He's entitled to his own opinion, as is anyone else.

Also, yes that Dutch home kit is generic. For a team that is considered a contender for the World Cup this year, they deserve better.

Agreed. This is for the true fans of Total Dutch Football. Not those who buy something on a "design worthiness" basis.

It's the simplicity and "call to the glory days" feel that I love about it, and that's that.

This is much better than the last orange white and blue kit. Back to the Cruyff era orange and black. And to the gobshite who says it's bland, sometimes a kit doesn't need too much design. Holland is better when it's basic

I think the flag stripe would have looked much better as a backdrop for the "Nederland" instead of basic black. Overall though, it's strangely classic.

What's made in Sri Lanka (or Indonesia or Portugal) got to do with anything in terms of the styling and design of the shirt?

I think their best shirt in Nike times was the orange shirt with plain black V-neck from 2000/2001. It was very simple but stated class and elegance

Am literally sat typing this wearing the shirt -

I agree that it's not the most exotically designed shirt BUT -

- It's VERY comfortable, especially as I thought it would have a more 'plasticy' feel because of the recycled bottles used, it feels a touch heavier than I thought, but the texture is still perfectly smooth.

- It's also a great as a playing shirt - I played in it in the pouring rain on Friday (have washed it since) and it did the whole 'keep you cool when you're warm. keep you warm when it's cold' thing that the modern sports shirts are meant to do!

- It's also brilliant ORANGE! I agree with the above comment, it's a quiet classic.

Orange + black = good

Orange + white = OK

Orange + black + white = awful!!! Why can't NIke stick with one or the other?

this is boring, when will the stop using the same fabric they have used for the past 10 years? And the jersey looks like a t-shirt, not a football shirt.

The shirt on its own isn't great, but it looks good as part of the whole kit.

The inside of the badge should have been white instead of orange to let it stand out a bit more.

i've been trying to like this shirt, but the black/white/orange combination is just so repulsive.

You guys are nuts...

THE COLORS ARE THE HISTORY!! I will be just fine if the shirt doesn't have the silly print adidas had in Euro 88.

Check the 1974 Kit... It's basically the SAME kit as this one! VERY plain, and VERY simple.

Guys, if you think that this kit's bad.
have a look at the new australia shirts!
the home and away shirts are the same design
just different colours, its terrible.
I don't even think i want to make the effort to
turn the tele on just to watch the matches.
i would rather prefer a green and gold version of this
rather than the sh*te we were given.
consider yourselves lucky!

to you wonkers (not suss) who think that
this oranje kit is bad looking

Future classic. The new Nike kits look and feel a bit strange in the flesh, but from a distance they look fresh. Put me down for a L/S with a number 10. Nicely nicely.

Why does nike have to make the replica badge a patch like Australia's kit? just doesn't feel good anymore.

To all the naysayers - Give it another chance.
Often, the best shirts are the ones that require a second look to notice all the subtleties:

The shade of Orange is bright and attention-getting without really screaming;
The use of White and Black -
the White to draw your eye where they want it to go, i.e. the vertical stripe makes the kit's wearer appear taller, and (of course) focus on the Nike logos;
the Black for added visual interest (the collar, extra stripe, etc), and the fact that Black shorts just look waay cooler than White shorts.

Overall, Nike generally aims for their designs to look classic, and this one is on point!
Definitely one of their best shirts to date.
