Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito unveiled the kit designs for the new 2010 season made by umbro.
As indicated by their nickname, los Albos (The Whites), Liga's kit is historically all-white, with the team's crest on the left side. Historically, Liga's badge consisted of a large red block-letter "U". In the 1990s, the team adopted the current badge, a white "U" superimposed on an inverted triangle.
The colours of the triangle were the deep red and blue of the flag of the city of Quito. Throughout most of the decade and into the 2000s, the crest carried several blue stars above it representing Liga's league championships. After being removed from the jersey for a period of time, the blue stars were replaced by a single yellow star atop the badge following the Copa Libertadores win in 2008. Two more stars were added to commemorate the 2009 Recopa Sudamericana and Copa Sudamericana titles.
Umbro is the team's kit provider, and Swiss cement company Holcim is the team's current shirt sponsor since 2008. Coca-Cola, Chevrolet, and Diner's Club International are also sponsors.

So is "decent, but nothing spectacular, very plain" ?
For LDU from Ecuador, the kit is good enough. Very nice.
What do you expect? An outstanding design for every single football shirt in the planet? Like everything, there are excellent, average and bad products, doesn't matter if is food, real estate or football shirt.
I love to read everyday those new shirts reports published here, but it's becoming very annoying the negative comments in the FSC website.
There are bad and good designers in football industry, there are clubs with money to produce bespoke kits and hire a decent manufacturer, but the majority can't afford to pay for it.
Jesus christ calm down!!, fair enough for an ecuadorian team its a good shirt. But i'm goiving my honest opnion, its decent.
But alright we'll have it your way, i'll give massive praise to every shirt thats put up on here and not give my own, honest opnion.
One thing you are wrong about is that clubs do not hire manufacturers. The various brands bid for the contracts with offers of money and/or free kit and the club then select the best offer. The problem with that system is that in order to keep costs down many of the major brands just churn ot generic kits in order to keep costs down and it is this constant re-use of bland designs that often infuriates people on this site.

So you acknowledge that there are bad kits out there, but we're not allowed to say so if we see one on FSC?
If the kit is bad, I think everybody can say whatever they want...in my opinion this is a decent kit, not outstanding but not bad at all, that's why I don't understand the criticism
Unless the kit is very unique, people already say is bad. I thought the main point of this website is to gather info about football shirts, not a everyday contest to choose the best shirt of the planet.
It's kind of cruel with kits that can't change too much the design every year..not saying that is LDU case, but imagine shirts like Sao Paulo FC, they have in statute the kit of horizontal strips, and that's all...it's not fault of the designer if the kit is always boring...
But why not in Portugal too?
Come on Umbro, portuguese teams have tradition, strenght, football skills, and all what you ask in a football club, so... sponsor portuguese teams!
But with only three teams that compete and have supporters I really don't understand how the portugese have a league.
As an aside; Santa Clara on the Azores is sponsored by Umbro but you wouldn't know that if you are Benfica fan because the only teams that matter are Sporting and Porto.
And for your information, the portuguese Liga Sagres has 16 clubs, all with real fans and supporters, and not 3, like you say. But those 3 clubs are the strongest. Even the Premiership is decided between 4 clubs.
Go to www.lpfp.pt, just to you don´t talk about what you don´t know.
But there really has to be a name on the kit
And sponsors on the bac k are ugly!!
Good design from Umbro!!
