middlesbrough 10-11 adidas kits

Boro's new-look adidas home kit goes back to the future with a return of the famous white chest band, while the club have also unveiled a new cobalt blue away strip.

With Boro set to start the 2010-11 campaign without a seasonal shirt sponsor, for the first time in 30 years fans will have the unique and potentially one-off opportunity to buy logo-free home and away shirts.

The home shirt features the white chest band first worn by Jack Charlton's Boro champions of 1973-74, complete with retro white collar and completed with white shorts and red socks.

Both home and away kits go on sale exclusively to Season Card holders on Friday July 30 with general sale from Saturday July 31.

The new-look home and away goalkeeper's kit is also available now for pre-order. The home keeper kit is all black, while the away version features sunshine yellow shirts and black shorts.

Inspired by tradition and engineered for performance, both home and away shirts feature adidas' cutting-edge Climacool technology, with a combination of performance fabrics, open mesh and ventilation channels designed to keep cool air flowing in, and heat and sweat flowing out.

The cobalt blue away kit uses adidas Formotion engineering to follow the shape of the wearer's physique for a better fit and greater comfort while in motion.

Terry Boland, Boro's Head of Retail, said: "We are confident that the return of the popular chest band to a new-look home shirt and our stunning new away strip will both prove winners with the fans."

While both home and away shirts will be available to purchase logo-free, supporters will also have the option of adding monthly sponsor logos if they wish.

Thanks to Nick Mully and Andrew

Home shirt is class, not so keen on the away.

Nice to see the chest band back. I remember when errea did there kits and allowed the fans to vote, the chest band was always the winner. This shirt looks a bit thrown together, but at least it is quite striking.
The away is decidedly so-so.

These are good, the home could do with a sponsor on the white though......

The home kit is great, it's just a shame Boro can't get a sponsor (for a whole season). I don't think I'd buy a replica shirt that won't look the same as the ones the players are wearing.

Boro's media men can dress this up as much as they like, with the whole "Tailored for You" thing - call it "unique," call it "innovative" or a "one-off opportunity," tell us that discussions with potential sponsors haven't been "satisfactory," but we all know all it means is that no company is willing to pay Middlesbrough as much as Middlesbrough want to sponsor their shirts.

I'm currently in discussion with Boro for their shirt sponsorship for September - Fridge Freezer For Sale, £400 o.n.o.

Very nice home kit. Shirts look so classy without sponsors. Away shirt is average. Looks like a straight out of a catalogue job. Adidas have also removed the Nike logo from their boots. Very schneid.

But definitely one of the better home kits for the coming season. Possibly the nicest Adidas kit for 2010/11.

The home is a bit plain. Adidas really don't add much nuance to their teams' kits, do they.

Not a big adidas fan but I think that home kit is great. The away is just the Condivo teamwear template though.

I can't believe people won't buy them without a sponsor's logo though. Ugly sponsors logos that make the wearer into a walking billboard are what stops me from buying them!

Will the fans version be without sponsor?

Great to see a non-standard template for us next season although it does look like a borderline rugby shirt with long sleeves

Away is a disappointment though. Hull/Stoke/Plymouth template in blue & black stripes would have been a massive hit IMO

First time in about 3 years ive been genuinely looking forward to a season & it's nice to have a home shirt to be proud of.

Come on Boro

Sounds daft given the usual comments on here, but if there isn't a sponsor, they could do with the badge being in the middle of the white band - without it does look a bit like an amateur RU shirt.

Looks like Adidas might be taking a few leaves from Umbro's book with the simple retro designs, and goes to show that they can knock out some real decent kits when they put a bit of effort in rather than just throw out another template.

The design itself, to me, seems the most faithful to what defines a Boro kit in recent years. Boro fans are really fortunate to not have a sponsor (spare a thought for the poor WBA fans with that red house all over theirs).

The only thing bothering me about this kit though is the shorts. They have what looks like a baggy part on the front, like maternity wear or something.

the home kit looks like a benfica strip except for the what block n the middle(not that there's anything wrong with that) i dig, the away is a bit of a dissapointment it's exactly the same as slovakias strip except it has a middlesborough logo.

Really like the home kit, I thought adidas would have brought back the chestband last season, since they invented that design for boro back in the 70s, but it was worth the wait.

I think it looks better without a sponsor too, why anyone would want the name of some online betting company or similar splashed across their kit I have no idea. Obvioulsy the club want the money, but I don't understand why fans want a sponsor on the kit.

Away kit is a bit dull.

Adidas DID NOT introduce the white chest band, that was first used in 1973-74 when the kit was supplied by Jack Hatfield (a Middlesbrough sports shop) & was probably made by Bukta. Both kits are HORRIBLE. Boro fans want RED shorts, a 2 year long sponsor (NOT a different one EVERY month) & the away kit...Its probably a design that Chelsea TURNED DOWN !!! Don't fall for Steve 'Nu LIbour'' Gibson's latest SCAM 'You will be able to buy the monthly sponsor's logo from the club shop'.. Good Eh ? BOYCOTT THIS RIP-OFF..BORO ARE A VERY GREEDY CLUB NOW & Will never get another Penny off me... Good to see a couple of 'Gers' in the squad at last though....Millwall....Apart from Luton 25 years ago what have you ever done ????
