newcastle united 10-11 adidas home kit

Newcastle United have today revealed their latest home kit ahead of the start of the new season, with the all-new Puma strip going on sale next month.

The new black and white kit will be available to buy from official Club stores at St. James' Park, Eldon Square, Monument Mall, the Metrocentre and online on Thursday August 5.

Following the unveiling, Newcastle United Manager Chris Hughton said: "We're delighted with the new Puma home strip and our players are all really pleased with the look and feel of the design.

"There's always a lot of excitement every time a brand new black and white shirt comes out and I'm sure the strip will go down well with our supporters.

"We're all very excited ahead of the start of the season and we're looking forward to wearing our new kit as a Premier League team."

Also out on August 5 will be the brand new goalkeeper's kit, and ahead of the release date next month, both strips are available to pre-order online.

As with the recently revealed change and third kits, the Puma shirts are made from a lightweight, breathable fabric to provide maximum comfort and breathability.

Roger Harrison, Marketing Director of Puma UK, said: "We're very proud to launch the new home shirt as it has always been such an iconic kit.

"From day one of the partnership, Newcastle United and Puma have developed a way of thinking that is fan-centric."

Thanks to Steve and Michael

I like the way it blends modern style (the collar) with a retro look (Newcastle's signature stripes).

I like the change and 3rd kit however the home looks like cheap rubbish and I wont be parting with my cash.

I think I'll get a nice retro shirt from Toffs.

No effort has been put into this shirt and when you see the quality up close it's terrible.

Just scrolled down to view each image and thought to my-self how glum these players expressions were. Which is when I viewed the final image.

Look how smug Steve Harper is!

The goalkeeper's kit looks alright, and I really like the design they used for the socks of both uniforms.
I'm also a big fan of that Puma collar. Makes it quite cool.
But three(!) Puma logos on the home kit?!
You've got to be kidding Puma!
One would think Puma is a big name in sports, but I guess they need to make more money, or something.
Financial crisis or not, there should be no excuse for three company logos on one kit. Maybe there's even another one on the right hand sleeve, too...
And one on the center of the shorts? You've got to be kidding!
Plus, I don't think you would not necessarily have to now it's a Puma jersey: it looks good, all by itself. But that just ruins it!
Better luck next year, Puma...
Or just take the same design and take off to or three of these logos. Simply terrible...

Very run of the mill, straight out of the PUMA Powercat:10 catalogue... Not a bad kit, but no thought or individuality. In essence a pub team kit with a NUFC badge on it... To be fair, that's how the club is being run these days, so I guess it's ironic and appropriate...

0 # 2010-07-01 23:32
Eesch... not a big fan. I'll probably end up buying it, but there are so many problems with it.
The collar is a minor concern, but the badge looks like it's been ironed on; for that matter so does the sponsor.
I quite like the socks, but my massive problem is the shorts.
The massive waistband and the big central Puma logo like a belt buckle both look ridiculous. Are these football shorts or a gimmick?
Subsequently, the fact that the badge crosses from black to white makes it seem like Puma haven't put any thought into this kit at all.

Puma totally just called this one in, what a waste. The sponsor looks terrible! Why didn't they just leave a black area of fabric for a white font, or put a black outline around the northern rock lettering and have the black and white stripes run from top to bottom?

Guess I'll be designing this next year.

THIS IS REALLY BAD DESIGN.
THE SPONSOR AND CREST ARE PRINTED AND NOT STICHED! THIS IS SHAMING NEWCASTLE UNITED!
CHEAP AND TATTY!

I GUESS MIKE ASHLEY WILL COME OUT WITH SOME "WISE" CRACK ABOUT HOW CUTTING COST IN KIT CREATION WILL ADD TO PLAYERS FUNDS/WAGES!

NO EXCUSE! THE GEORDIES WILL NOT BUY THIS!

Failing to understand why people are so quick to jump up and down on this kit unless they're mackems (Im sorry, Tombola?). It's not a bad kit. That's the point. Not bad. Run of the mill. Cheap yes but christ at least it's just average, which is what I expect our football to be like if we are going to survive and rebuild. At least it's not as bad as Bolton's...

what the hell has gone wrong with the puma design team?
bad materials - bad fit - and the look of it is awful. some kits will be worn for years by supporters, this one will not. more imitation of superior brands with a terrible effort towards making this template ownable. Again - puma FAIL!

Sunderland who have an average attendance of 42000 last season and sell out every away game allocation! Slightly better then Bolton/Wigan don't you think? The way I see it there are two big clubs in the north east, Sunderland & Newcastle are without doubt huge clubs but you can not deny that Sunderland are a big club! You would be very stupid to think they are not. I know they your rivals but ffs just admit it! I have been to both grounds and I was equally amazed by both sets of supporters but the Mackems were louder! Watch out Newcastle you are the underdogs of north east premiership football this season!

I have to agree with the Manc on this one (shudder)! Sunderland are a huge club! I was at the Stadium of Light this season (beach ball incident) and I was amazed by the support and to be fair the Mackems played us off the park. This club is without doubt a sleeping giant, they have the potential to kick on this season! They were unlucky to finish 13th last season! I have the balls to admit our main rival are a huge club if not the biggest why can't you Geordies? You have always had a superiority complex! Funny that, you ain't won anything since the fifties!!!!

Once again, Newcastle manage to make one of the most stylish potential shirts look rubbish.

How come Juve manage to consistently make black and white stripes look awesome?

just knocked this together in about 2 mins in photoshop and its already infinitely better than that rubbish

anyways the kits not too bad, looking forward to seeing the lads running around in it at old trafford first game of the season, we'll see the real difference then, as Puma reckon the material is skin friendly. Away and 3rd kit are dissappointing, but I like the home kit its not too bad, socks need sorting out like

The home kit is classy, as always. the collar could be a whole lot worse. Look at Uruguay's double collar that puma had them wear. The boxer-esque shorts, the socks, and the away and third kits are complete crap. And now during home games, our keeper will look like a tube of mint toothpaste.

I got the change kit the day it was released, i wasnt impressed with it on the pictures but it is nicer in person, i hope the same goes for these kits, either way I will be buying it.

And Sunderland big club? Ofcourse they are, and so are we, but ffs I'm sick to death of people writing us off because we have came up with a ''weaker team'' than what we went down with, but tbh what have them players done? Oba Martins - Bench warmer at a german club for a season, now at a Russian club, who are they?
Habib beye - Villa bench, well done habib!
Michael Owen - yeah he scored a few but now he's injured..... AGIAN!
I think that Newcastle United an Sunderland will both have a very good season with NEITHER at threat to relagation.
Good luck mackems, look forward to playing you again
