S.E. Palmeiras 10/11 Adidas Kits

Here are the new S.E. Palmeiras kits for the 2010/11 Brazilian Série A season produced by Adidas.

Verdão who come from Brazil's largest city São Paulo today revealed their new kits, said to be inspired by the shirt worn in 1950/51 where the club went through a period known as 'Cinco Coroas' or Five Crowns in English.

The home shirt is emerald green with a watermark over the right part of the chest, which shows the clubs logo from the 50's period with the five crowns decorated around it. The collar also contains some symbolism for these previous honours with an almost militaristic style display of five stars on the left side.

Palmeiras' away kit sees a return to lime green which was also used in the 2007 and 2008 seasons which was well received by the club's fans.

The home shirt will be played in a Série A game for the first time this coming Thursday against Botafogo.

Agreed - really nice kits, very classy.

I like the poses in the first pic too. Nice to see the players having fun and not taking too seriously. Much better than the usual promos with players trying to look all serious and intense.

I highly enjoy the guy to the right of the goalie. He knows what's going on.
Classy kits. Love the stars on the collar. The away and GK kits are solid as well.

Classy!! Although the second kit, lemon green, was already used between 2007 and 2008. I expected Adidas to show something new..

Five Crowns = five consecutive titles (Palmeiras is the only club in Brazil with that mark), the last one against Juventus in Copa Rio, the first club world championship

Man, the first club world champion is Corinthians, in 2000, this statement is on the FIFA's web site, in a championship which presented Real Madrid and Manchester United besides Corinthians.

Guessing he means World Club Cup (basically the same thing), which was the predecessor or the Club World Championship. Also interfered less with the European season as it was just a one off tie between the champions of Europe and the champions of South America

I dislike lime green shirt, but the green're very well prepared. For years, Adidas was not concerned so closely with a team of South America.

Indeed. According to a magazine, Palmeiras is the 5th in adidas jerseys sold around the world. Losing only to R Madrid, Milan, Bayern Munchen and Chelsea. That's something!

What have Chelsea done to deserve such a classy kit? You cannot compare a great historical club like Palmeiras with a club like Chelsea. Chelsea have won fewer titles than your beloved Sunderland for God's sake! Have some self-respect man.

very lovely kits, including the goalkeeper. one of the best adidas kits of the season, if not the best.
can anyone else notice the pattern on our right (players left) chest, looks like something very faint

It's a watermark that features a crown with Palmeiras' old emblem and 5 stars representing the consecutive championships from the early 50s.

The white goalie kit is not pictured above but it's also really nice -- with green and red accents to represent Palmeiras' Italian heritage.

Whoops -- it should read "5 crowns" -- there are 5 crowns on the watermark.

I love the poses of the players in the first picture!
But the guy presenting the two players-kits just looks, like he doesn't really know how to look on a photo.

Well these kits are great! The dark green one is very classy, just a beautyful kit! And the lime one is awesome, too. That template works pretty well with these collours! Just great!

Both kits are top class. The stars on the collar are a nice touch that doesn't diminish the meaning of the stars. Very classy. I might have to pick up one of these tops soon. Too nice looking to pass up.

As a Palmeiras fan I am suspicious to comment on this kit, but I might say it´s the most stylish one since Adidas returned as our kit supplier (2006). Clean design, but these small details (watermark, stars and back logo) make it very distinct.

Palmeiras minha vida é você!

FIAT is Italian!!! Italians rock: one of the only sponsors in Brazilian football to adapt its colours to the kits!!! (FIAT is originally red on white field, look at Valentino Rossi's Yamaha). Very nice!

Really nice Adidas kits. The home shirt has a beautiful simplicity and the away shirt is already very nice. The only problem: Palmeiras green color is something to forget (in other colors than green or blue the main shirt here presented would be Adidas best kit for next year considering all the clubs in the world).
