Partick Thistle 10-11 home puma kit

Simon Donnelly and Jackie McNamara unveiled the new Partick Thistle 10/11 home kit  made by Puma.

Simon and Jackie, who signed new deals last week, gave the thumbs up to the new kit which has been inspired by Puma's African Nations kits at this year's World Cup.

Sandy Greaves, Greaves Sports managing director, said he wanted to keep within the traditions of the classic Thistle home jersey while at the same time give a nod to the African style of shirt with its brush stroke design which has proved so popular during the World Cup.

He said: "We wanted to stick with the traditional red and yellow hoops that Thistle are famous for, but introduce the brush stroke design which Puma has so successfully used for their African teams in the World Cup.

"The African nations jerseys have sold incredibly well in our stores and we hope the Jags fans will like the direction we've taken. Importantly, the players like it and feel comfortable in the kit."
The new jersey has hoops all the way round as opposed to the plain yellow back of last season's kit, with a switch to red shorts (same colour as worn by the famous 1971 cup winning side) and black socks.

The kit will also be on sale at Greaves Sports on Gordon Street, Sauchiehall Street .

I guess the contrast between yellow and red/orange isn't as big as between blue and white, so it works.

The rules on applying numbers to kits are more relaxed in Scotland.

CLASS! Puma has done a superb job with Partick Thistle's strip the last couple of years. This is an awesome modern interpretation of the classic hoops.

I especially like the fact that Puma didn't extend the hoops to the sleeves... makes it a lot cleaner. This "body paint" template is one I can support on multiple teams.

I also just have to add...

Glad that the team managed to avoid the stupid star collar AND the stupid belt buckle.

smart kit

my lad plays for Abu Dhabi Thistle (set up by Thistle fans)

would be fantastic if they turn out in the puma replica next season but i fear due to budget restraints it'll be a red n yellow pro star!!

Totally agree Gazhorn. I've often thought that going a bit Partick with red and yellow hoops one season would be a winner. Way better than ours.

Yahoo have just placed this shirt as the" 7th worst shirt" of the 2010/11 season Should have been 2nd after Everton. Shirt more than suits this mickey mouse club!

Arrogant...typical arrogant douche who just brands one of our well respected clubs as mickey mouse. Your pathetic, our clubs are certainly not mickey mouse (we do have clubs that are capable of mauling championship and premier league teams as seen before!) and above all...its a bloody nice kit!

´Really great home kit. Flawless hooped shirt with progressive look. Don't really see how they wanna sell the violet one though. Great silouettes by PUMA once more, but crappy colorway.
