grande camisola!
great shirt...the best nike world cup kit, tied with the australian and us away.
Your MAW..................
and SERBIA HOME ???????? please !!
bring back the dark red!
What is Portugual Famous for? maritime history, exploration, and Wine and Port (among other things) There was a reason to make them dark red, as it represented the country and its most famous products. Plus the colour would have been more welcome to Sporting and Porto Fans.
This is a nice kit, the green stripe is nice, but I would have prefered this to be a deeper red with a deeper green.
Ok, port is dark red, but maritime history and exploration? Tenuous to say the least.
England's famous for maritime history and exploration too, but the flag is white, so the shirt is white.
Theres no orange in the Dutch flag, no deep wine red in the Venezuelan Flag, no white in the German flag, no blue in the Janpanese flag and no sky blue in the Uruguayan flag. the deep red looks nicer than the one used here, which is too light.
Orange is not only the national color of the Netherlands, but it's also the historical color (search for Orange of William-Nassau).
Germany's colors are derived from the flag of the kingdom of Prussia (white and black).
Japan's blue comes from the uniforms of the Imperial Army, and is the color of the Sea of Japan.
Venezuela's wine color comes from mixing the colors of the national flag (yellow, red, and blue).
Uruguay's sky blue and black are a homage to River Plate FC (Uruguayan team), as a sign of respect. The red jersey from Uruguay was to honor Peru back in the 1935 Copa America held in Santa Beatriz.
I rest my case.
The kits are to be a throwback to the 66 WC team thus the red. I don't mind the maroon. Although I like that as of late the Maroon kits for the Euros and the red for the WC. I think Nike did a nice job..
and just remember the Portuguese were the first to tame the Cape of Good Hope and sail around South Africa. I think they will once again conquer South Africa (with a African coach at the helm no less)!
FORCA!
PS: As a Benfiquista I don't mind the red
My grand father was portuguese, so i support them, i wish they have a good kit...and players with balls, not the good looking guys with no guts that play this days
Same thing for Netherlands and usa.
Bad job Nike
Best Portugal kit for a long time
Ok já agora uma palavra para esses morcões que falam mal do meu País: Ide ma zé comer sacos de bosta à moda do Porto.
The plain away jersey with the colors going down vertically is kind of ugly. The little break in the middle with the number makes it all the better.
Coments on MAN UNITED news jersys anyone?
Nice shirt.
