Says something about English football, now doesn't it? I mean, you can't go on about having the best league in the world, because no Englishmen actually play in it, or coach in it, or own the teams, or anything. I think you'll find that there aren't many English players overseas, as they all stay in England to play in the best league in the world.
No Englishmen coach in it?
Lets just ignore Chris Hughton/Ian Holloway/Roy Hodgson/Sam Allardyce/Steve Bruce/Harry Redknapp/Tony Pulis.
Then lets look at the British managers: Alex Ferguson/David Moyes/Mick McCarthy/Owen Coyle/Mark Hughes/Alex McGleish/Kevin MacDonald.
And then the foreign managers: Arsene Wenger/Roberto Mancini/Avram Grant/Roberto Di Matteo/Roberto Martinez/Carlo Ancelotti.
I guess the reason why there are so many foreign owners in the UK, is because they see the league as a better proposition compared to other leagues.
Decent players only sign for Real Madrid or Barcelona in Spain, the former who spend ridiculous money with little result. And it's only those two teams who challenge.
Na, but I guess England's a bit boring because only 7 team compete for the top 4 spots.
What about Germany? Bayern Munich and about 6 other average teams?! That's fantastic.
Just because Fabio Capello doesn't wear a dodgy vest better suited to a member of JLS, like your manager does.

Also, why not just call the club "Salt Lake City SC" (SC - Soccer Club) It would make the team sound more genuine and not an American Soccer franchise trying to be a Spanish Royal endorsed team.
Also the exclusive adidas Apparel and teamwear contract is wearing thin. I think it's time the MLS teams got to choose which supplier to go with.
yea i have to agree to real salt lake is such a rip off. utah probably was a spanish settlement (i dont know) but the king of spain never declared anything in utah royal so there is no reason for calling a team royal anything if there was never any sort of monarchy in america (except for hawaii) but i think the most stupidest name in mls is new york red bulls. first its a energy drink and second they dont even play in new york, they play in new jersey. as for the kit its pretty dull adidas template as almost every mls club wears this template but the colours are nice. i cant wait for 2014 when this adidas deal wears off. the only reason mls took this deal is because its worth alot where as in the past mls clubs chose their own brands and i guess it didnt bring in much dough. mls execs. are whores for money. which is why our football sucks because they put money over performance. we have no incentives or pressure (such as relegation). mls clubs are lazy.
Actually there are people of about every nationality that live in Utah. The team was named Real, based on the owners visit to Real Madrid where he was scouting for the NBA but fell in love with the football team and the culture of Real Madrid. He chose to honor that inspiration by using the name, no more stupid that a club choosing United, or tacking SC on their name without a real sporting club behind them. the title of Real could never be issued by "royal" decree here in the US since we have no royality, so the use is just fine.
So you would say that England should have no gear since no real brand is from there anymore. Silly Adidas has been a long time partner of MLS, and while I wish teams could choose their own supplier, it was a great deal when it was made.
Why? They won the MLS Cup. Its like the Scudetto patch, the golden Premier League patches, and the patch all the other European league champions get. Just because it's oval shaped and the trophy looks like big ears doesnt mean they ripped off the Badge of Honour
I don't care if they are called Real Big Bananas or that they call football soccer as long as everyone enjoys the game, plays the game and talks about the game. Now flick back over to world of warcraft.

yea man its part of a deal mls made with adidas to provide every mls club with adidas kits till 2014. everyone here hates it. its the same template and all mls clubs away kit are white (can someone tell me if thats part of the deal too?) mls is the most monotone league in the world. trust me every fan sings the same song for every club every stadium is exactly the same and all players are paid the same below $50,000 except for the dps (henry etc) and now we even don the same kits for all teams. oh and one more thing all clubs are 70% owned by the league. more reason for everyone to hate mls. i wish things were different.

And I'm American. I take notice of soccer, seeing how I hold season tickets at my local team.
