scotland 10 12 home adidas kit

The Scottish FA launched the new adidas Scotland home kit, which will be worn against the Czech Republic at Hampden on Wednesday night and then for the European Championship Qualifying Campaign.

adidas have designed the kit to reflect Scotland’s long football heritage. With a classic look of dark navy shirt with white trim, white shorts, and bright red socks it draws inspiration from the national flag, the team crest and past iconic strips.

The replica home kit will be available in the FSC Shop. in June 2010 followed by the training wear in July. The away kit will be launched in August and the Leisure wear in Spring/Summer 2011.

Technical details

The new shirt incorporates the following adidas technologies:

• ClimaCool™ - engineered mesh that allows heat and sweat to escape while bringing cooling air into contact with the skin. All seams are sewn flat to reduce irritation while running, and engineered fabric offers open mesh in critical heat zones.

• ForMotion™ - allows complete freedom of movement. Radical cuts and 3D designs follow the shape of your body to increase comfort and improve performance.

 Design details

Styled in the national colours with a large embossed tonal Scotland crest on the front of the shirt the kit has a great sense of pride and honour. The bright red socks, with the word “Alba” knitted in, emphasises the patriotic feel to the kit and the high quality finish, alongside the woven badge on the chest, will inspire greatness.

The watermark looks stupid and the number placement is just weird plus the shirt lacks any style, class or imagination.

I have to say as a scot mysef...this is actually not that bad. Adidas did not manage to crew us over, that much. In this kit there are little mistakes such as that embroidery on the chest and the over used template. But saying that this is the first kit from adidas for Scotland, give them a couple of seasons and im sure we would have a pretty awsome kit by then...

From reading these pages of the last couple of years, it's obvious that you can't please everybody.

This is the best Scotland kit singe pre-1985. Granted the watermark is unnecessary and the shorts are slightly on the baggy side, but the classic colours are back and I think the three stripes look very good on a Scotland kit.

It's a pit that there is a break in the stripes down the arms...but people talking about the top being baggy: It's really down to the individual players pysique and what size of top he chooses. No doubt these same people would love to bring back shorts ala Socretes 1982 so they can ogle the players gonads without having to use their limited imaginations.

I have style. Enough style to now not buy football kits, but that is a good Scotland kit....and they'll get better still.

Japan always has a cool kit...I hope Scotland go down that road....

Disagree with you on the best since pre 1985. The 1988-91 home Umbro kit as worn at Italia '90 was excellent. No other Scotland kit has come close. This isn't a bad effort, far better than second-rate Diadora kits.

I wonder what adidas have instore for the away kit. I would love to see a return to the red/navy 70s - 80s Unbro style.

No Salmon Pink please, or that horrible shade of yellow!

WTF are you talking about???

There is no red in our national flag. Unless you are referring to that unionist rag???

The 'ALBA' on the socks is a nice touch though.

I agree with vigilante, it looks better without that daft SFA motif in the centre.

Scotland do have the exclusive contract, Gordon smith said that we will have a bespoke design like Germany and France, and this is already being developed. This kit has just been quickly put together because we had to have an adidas kit for the games coming up. Don't fear we'll have a better one soon. Also the away kit is yellow.

Mmmh, i expected a sligthly bit bitter. It is only a temporary kit(ok, all kits are)as they get a bespoken one next year or so. It´s just a brief/fast effort as their contract starts(when Diadora went bust)

I personally would have greeted a round badge. It´s looking like a 0815 average shirt with the Scotland label stitched on and watermark logo pressed into.

And i ´d rather have it been published as shortsleeve. Gives a better impression of the overall appearance.

I bet the bespoke individual shirt they get soon, will be a massive cracker so i will wait and not buy this one. Too effortless on my opinion.

very disappointing ........
I would have expected more from Adidas. The jersey looks cheap and meaningless.

All I see are the 3 stripes on the sleeves and the shorts. The watermark looks like a giant sweat stain.

Sorry Scots but this kit is foul. When will Adidas put out a shirt without the d*mn 3 stripes on the sleeves and shoulders?? Nike atleast doesn't beat us over the head with the swoosh. It's more subtle. The 3 stripes are obnoxious and tiresome when you seem them on every adidas kit...sigh.

My kingdom for a CLEAN shirt from Adidas. This one is a cluttered mess. I do like the font for the numbers though. That looks awesome.

Yes the watermark looks like a sweat stain, yes the watermark looks like an iron print, yes the watermark looks like a cattle brand etc, but let's wait and see what it looks like in the flesh when they play tomorrow before we go tying the thing to a flagpole and setting it alight.

Good to see ALBA on the socks. Time to have it in the badge though. If the Welsh can have Cymru...

Alba gu bràth.

poor stuff though, so dull!

kit should be all blue and gold too!

St Andrews? What the hell has Birmingham City got to do with this region of Britain's new outfit apart from the fact Mad Dog plays for both.

I feel the daft touches like branding the socks with a little known language will appeal to the likes of Rab C Nesbitt and perhaps Gordon Brown but will it ever see a major tournament... ....?

The kit looks great on hangers, which of course where they will be during South Africa 2010.

Not bad I suppose, but I expected better from adidas. Not a big fan of the huge watermark, but the shirt in general is better than anything Diadora produced. I agree with what some have said on here. It's time the SFA ditched that awful badge and returned to either the crest worn in the 80s/90s or the traditional round badge wore before that era.

This is way better than the England kit whose fans think that just because theyre kits similiar to the one worn in 66 theyll win the f**kin world cup.Get a Grip.

Kit isn't as bad as many people are making out, but its not as nice as many other people are making it out to be. Not too bad, but it looks a wee bit too much like a France top to me.
