south africa 10-12 adidas away kit

Bafana Bafana unveiled the new 10/12 away kit against Namibia at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. They will wear the new away kit during the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

The new South Africa 2010-12 football shirts are available through the FSC Shop.

The jersey incorporates 11 threads that symbolises diversity in unity and modern interpretations of traditional South African artwork. It celebrates the pride of the host nation by displaying the centre of the national flag on its front. It has an African art print on the collar to be consistent with the home jersey.

"The new away kit, which features a unique new mixture of Twilight and Forrest Green, will further identify the hosts of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Like the current yellow home jersey, this green jersey is without doubt one of the most important and iconic that adidas, as the national team's official technical sponsor has ever designed," says Zobuzwe Ngobese, PR manager at adidas South Africa.

Waste of time for Adidas, SA won't progress past the initial stage.

I wouldnt rule SA out of not qualifying for the next round mate.

Look at 2002 for instants, No one expected South Korea to reach the semi finals now.

Never rule the hosts out of a world cup run.

Nice kit though!

So are the player issued kits now TECHFIT or FORMOTION?

Because the expensive ones sold exclusively at Adidas retailers were player-issue quality but still had CLIMACOOL badges on them.

They can still be classed as the away team even though the match is being played on South African soil. Like they are against France although it wouldn't be required in the match, if they came up against the likes of Australia, Netherlands, Ivory Coast, Brazil in later stages in the tournament they may be required to change strips.

All teams need to register 2 kits for any tournament.

Right, it's an aesthetic thing--two teams with the same colours would make a more interesting game if they didn't have away colours.

i like the compression version better but the techfit sorta ruins the design a bit. and im not a big fan of the collar shape but overall its a nice kit. my biggest complaint however is the "american football" looking pads on the shoulders. people say thats to make way for patches but ive seen then when france played spain and all it is is a tiny adidas print with some funny ovals around them. it would look better if the stripes ran all the way instead of stopping that way. or at least have the stipes stop there and not continue cuz that space looks funny

It's for when they play in FIFA competitions so their logos are not 'disturbed' by anything underneath them, Adidas are using that logo as a stop gap on the official shirts for extra advertising while teams play friendlies, instead of just having a blank gap.

I liked the colours and the watermark. The not-tight version is better for the design proposed for SA national team.

Anyone might answer an little question: Which material is made the Adidas three stripes on the replica shirts sold in Europe?

the combination (green - yellow - green) looks very handsome.
but:
1.) its much too tight. the left guy looks like an gay stripper from johannesburg.
2.) the shirt looks very 90s. only the tightness and the upcoming number-design will make them more modern.

6/10

I don't know why Adidas make so many kits, ClimaCool, Formotion, TechFit PowerWEb and Fan version.

But I like this kit a lot. This is the best template, but I don't like in Argentina's away kit

I like this kit very much--but I also liked all of their Adidas jerseys with the exception of the Confederations Cup edition. That one was way too busy.

south africa... world cup host... and this is the picture they use to launch a new kit? a world away from the umbro/kasabian car crash (england away) and the recent nike meg-launch for 7/8 kits in london.

I like this shirt. This should be their home kit. All the other South African sports teams wear green shirts (Rugby, Cricket.....), not yellow. White shorts would make better contrast.

Can someone remind me why South Africa are playing in the World Cup? Also why do adidas sponsor them? the skagheads in the townships wont buy them because they prefer to wear fake Man U shirts with SHARP on the front. Is it too late to change hosts and stop this politically correctness in giving a poor African country the chance to host the greatest show on earth. Its bad enough that the African cup of Nations is hosted in Africa surely its time to be sensible.
