stoke city 10-11 adidas home kit

Stoke City have unveiled their new home kit and training wear for the 2010-11 season at the Player of the Year Stadium Show following the announcement that adidas have become their Official Kit Supplier in a long term deal.

The kit and training wear was modelled by City stars and three supporters who won a competition with stokecityfc.com for the right to take part in the launch.

Here is your first sight of the new adidas home kit which will be worn by the Potters when they kick off their Barclays Premier League campaign in August.

The kit launch was part of the Player of the Year Stadium Show which also featured live entertainment and the presentation of the awards.

Thanks to Stephen, Alex and Mully

They should be but Adidas has certainly done a good job of disproving that statement with this Stoke shirt.

Why are kit manufacturers so keen on destroying striped shirts with solid backs?

0 # 2010-05-03 13:57
The kit manufacturers tend to give there striped shirts solid backs is so match officials and supporters can see the players names and numbers easier, Stupid I know but thats what I heard awhile back, thats why newcastle put the shield on the back of there shirt a while back.

I have to agree with what you've said. It's simply not a Stoke top, even Sheffield United would be disappointed with that. I can only hope that they've only flogged us a basic template kit because it's the first season of our contract with them. But it's going to be very difficult to watch Matty Etherington running up the wing in a Liverpool top

Absolutely hideous.

Who designs this garbage? Astounding that a Premier League club get given some basic template like this.

Looks like they've given some nursery school kids the job to design different bits of it.

Collar is hideous.
Stripes are hideous.

And what can you say about the back? It's supposed to be a Stoke strip, not Liverpool!

Would it be common for a Premier League team to accept a basic rebadged 10/11 teamwear design like this?

Any other Premier League teams ever in a similar position?

Or is this normally the kind of thing that lower league teams have to put up with from big name manufacturers?

The prospect of paying £40 for a shirt you can buy online for £15m would certainly seem a bit strange.

Even without commenting on the quite horrible back, which drives a coach and horses over 100 years of tradition, this really does seem like one bad joke all round.

That really is terrible in every possible way.

1, The shoulders and sleever don't match the front
2, Needs stripes on the back
3, The dotted edges to the stripes looks ridiculous
4, The sponsors logo looks stuck on, an afterthought
5, Oh yes, lets put on an Adidas logo...here will do!
6, The collor looks like three people did it without talking to each other
7, The red of the shoulders and sleeves don't match the red of the stripes

And the club accepted this??????

Another reason for the FAPL to standardise the kit designs.

Just look at umbro's england kit, traditional pure white, no messing no stupid lines everywhere one of the most popular football shirts of all time. think that tell's its own story.

This is seriously bad. It really needs to be boycotted. If adidas want to make any money from Stoke fans they need to design the shirt again and not give them some useless template. I can't think of many pub teams who would want that, let alone a team about to enjoy their third consecutive season in the EPL. Seriously, boycott it.

crap jersey for a scum team whose only tactic is to throw the ball high into the air and wait for some fag to foul the goalkeeper and score or perhaps try to kill the opposition with a flying tackle or bicycle kick (shawcross, tuncay anyone?) - worse than a pub team and the manager is a whining shortsighted scumbag. SPECTACULAR FAIL.

As 'Tim1902' states... 'Why are kit manufacturers so keen on destroying striped shirts with solid backs?'

I for one hate this. My own football teams' shirts have been destryoyed in the past by a 'solid back' i personally Detest it.
If you play in stripes...., your shirt should be striped!!!! Not striped fronts and plain backs...
I understand that it's easier for match officials, but surely As long as you have a different colour number, i can't see the problem. Stoke's shirts worked perfectly last year and the year previous, why bring this out and spoil it.

Awful, awful shirt

1. Its some end of production kit.
2. Theyre gonna sell it to us for £40-£45, when its for sale to at £15 without our badge and sponsor.
3. Its a complete opposite of our traditional kit types.
