sunderland 10-11 umbro away kit

Sunderland AFC has unveiled its new Umbro away strip for the 2010-11 Barclays Premier League season.

The kit will be available from Thursday 29th July in official club stores at the Stadium of Light and Debenhams, Sunderland and The Galleries, Washington.

Direct from the Tailored by Umbro collection - the same range as England's bespoke strips for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa - the kit carries the name of the club's new main sponsors, tombola.

Bold, confident colours and a clean, smart design are the focus of the new-look kit. The shirt, modelled by star striker Darren Bent, is predominantly stone in colour and features a burgundy trim on the shaped crew neck neck-line, shoulders and side panels.

The shorts feature the reverse colourway - predominantly burgundy with a stone trim and the kit is complemented with stone socks featuring a burgundy turnover.

Made from Umbro's patented performance fabric, the new kit is crafted for comfort using the Football Tailoring principles, while the unique ergonomic design means that it moves with the player during the game, ensuring that Sunderland's players look smart and are able to perform at the highest level.

Darren Bent wore the new kit at a recent photoshoot; "It's a fantastic kit, he said. "The colours are really modern and fresh-looking and I'm sure our fans will love it as much as I do. It feels really good on too, as a player comfort and fit are really important and the tailored by Umbro collection has really nailed it. I just can't wait for pre-season to start now so I can wear it for real."

Lesley Callaghan, SAFC's marketing and commercial director, added: "Umbro's new designs are very impressive and we are confident that they will be popular with Sunderland fans for the new season."

Thanks to Dave and John

That is easily the worst shirt so far in the Tailored by Umro range. The template looks like it was designed on Pro Evolution soccer! And I don't get why they have stuck with the colours red and white, because they won't be able to wear it away at Stoke. Unless it's all done on purpose as a way of exploiting the fans in making them fork out for a third kit as well...

Yes, it has the same colour shirt and shorts but that doesn't make it "just the same" - why do you people have to bring everything bak to Arsenal?

Bit dull.

Nice colours but bad use. I give you the Universitario Kit, Now that was class with similar colours.

Pisses me off that umbro are branding everything as "tailored by" when the majority of the kits are not made with the Poly/Cotton mix or fitted.

Really classy looking kit this. Wish we kept with Umbro, they make real footy kits not like Adidas! We had one that looked like a bycicle top!
Sunderland will do well this year, Stadium of Light was by far my best away trip last season. It's easy to say a club is a sleeping giant but you can certainly put this club into this catagory!! Huge stadium, always packed out it's just a shame they finished thirteenth or whatever it was, there fans deserve so much better!

Gona hav to agree wit chelski boy am afraid I wen t to the Stadium of light last season an I hav to say it was my bes away trip. Even tho we got beat it was still worth it to visit suc a great ground an see real footy fans singin the hearts out, so loud! Def one of best away trips, highly recomend. Didn't realis he big Sunderland are until I visited them lst season!
I think the kits ok, nice and simple maybe a. Bit to plain.

Great kit, strange choice of colours though... A more retro blue effort would have been preffered. Looks much better in long sleeves. The thing that annoys me about the club is they make shirt personalization and PL badges on the sleeves hard to order, they should do hero shirts... Mktg fail I guess.

Will def buy though.

Quality shirt, this is how away tops should be! Not over the top, simple, clean and classy. Good choice of colour and the sponsor looks better than last seasons Boylesports by keeping it the same colour as the shirt. They should have the sponsor in black for the home shirt.
Always had a soft spot for Sunderland, probs cos they have a man u connection but always thought they would be a great club to support!

What's wrong with it? It's one of the best away kits we have had for a while. It clearly is taliored and the sponsor looks better than Boylesports did! Boylesports had a big daft symbol on it and was completley the wrong colour to any of our shirts. This sponsor is clean and simple and the same colour to the shirt. It looks quality, don't know what the problem is?

Saw it in the Sunderland Store, its dull and dirty looking. It a pale cream colour not as white as it appears in the pictures. We have had a few white once now and thought the point of an away kit was to be totally different to the home kit. Dark blue and gold hoops or something like that.

I'm sorry but I think this is our best ever away kit! People are saying it's smart except for sponsor but the sponsor is better as well! It's colour coordinated and simple. Boylesports was huge and had that massive logo on it and if you were sitting and the shirt was folding a certain way it would read Boylespots!! Bring on the home kit now, very impressed with Umbro!
