best selling shirts

According to multi-year research by PR Marketing, released to sportingintelligence for publication, Manchester United and Liverpool sell more official replica football shirts, for Nike and Adidas respectively, than any other teams in the English Premier League, and both are at or close to the top of the global merchandise sales tables.

PR Marketing, a leading German sports market research company has provided sportingintelligence with the findings of its detailed multi-year survey into the popularity of club football shirts.

The most consistent top 10 sellers, over numerous seasons, as discovered by Dr Peter Rohlmann from PR Marketing, are as depicted below.

Heroin addicts stealing shirts from the shops aren't reflected in the sales figures I'm afraid.

Come on, Italian clubs like milan & inter are on a sinking ship. Though inter won champions league Germany is at the moment in front of them and has a fourth champions league starter. Old stadiums, not enough fans in there and coruption as we all saw. I don't like that defense football they play anyway. Clubs and Italy. So now fight for your place against France...

You're talking about a 4 times world champion federation,. so clean your mouth before saying something about Italy. Unless you're brazilian, you need to run a lot to get close to the Italian calcio.

Run a lot? Paraguay, New zealand and Slovakia, we all saw that...
4 times champion? That's right. but it seems that you can win a lot with unattractive football. see inter...

But even that does not tell the full merchandise story, because although Liverpool were found to Adidas’s No2 shirt seller behind Real (with 700,000 to 900,000 shirts sold per year), Liverpool are understood to be ahead of Real in overall merchandise sales for Adidas, according to industry sources. In this instance “overall merchandise” means not just the sale of shirts (which is what Dr Rohlmann measured), but other kit, boots, tracksuits and other clothing, bags and even club-branded balls.

A quick perusal here illustrates, for example, the large range of official Liverpool-branded Adidas fare on offer.

And Liverpool’s commercial director, Ian Ayre, has told this website that Liverpool are Adidas’s top-selling team in overall merchandise terms. “It is clear that we are Adidas’s highest selling football club – Adidas advised us we were their highest selling club,” Ayre says.

Hopefully any potential investors see this and rescue us those two yank leaches.

I'd be interested to see the list with national teams too. I imagine that Brazil would be up in the 1.2 -1.5m sales area too. Also if you include Umbro then the England shirts would get on this list too in terms of numbers.
