This shirt is so hot!!! Simple, classy, with a great collar. So far some of the best shirts I've seen this season are from teams of the J-League.

Tokio FC's kits were truly awesome and now this one is quite a stunner.

This looks great. Better than any Nike kit I've seen so far for the world cup. But I am a 'retro-sxxual.'

Love that shirt, very retro, no frills, simple - great.

Am getting fed-up of Nike's retro-style kits though, seen it all before!

Indeed, it's a very stylish shirt with nice argyle design. I'd buy it just for that!

Smart use of diamond patterns to make it feel unique to the team. Gk shirt should look even sweeter with the diamond print.

10/10

Once again footballshirtculture manages to round up some non-sensible replies.

"the diamond-patter looks great; smart use of diamond patterns to make it feel unique to the team"? That's the mitsubishi logo, it's there because they're part of their shirt sponsorship. It's not some design nike came up with.

Gazhorn - you love the shirt because it's retro yet you're saying you're fed up with retro kits. That's an oxymoron.

If you closely at the shirt you will see there are watermarked diamonds down the front of the shirt, I think this is what was implied but the "the diamond-patter looks great; smart use of diamond patterns to make it feel unique to the team" statement.

The diamonds part of the name did initially come from the diamonds used in Mitsubishi's logo.

Look, you jobbie, of course it makes sense to have the diamonds, the team is the Red Diamods, ffs. And no, they're not sponsored by Mitsubishi, they were founded by them, like most J and K League clubs also been founded by big local companies.

Also, if you knew anything about Urawa's previous kits by Puma and Nike, you'd know they haven't used this motif in their designs. Hence my comment about the shirt feeling more personalized to the club.

Please think before posting and contribute your own ideas before criticizing others. Do everyone a favor and get yourself coited.

Did you see the sponsor on the back of the shirt? There are still ties between the two.

Of course they do, the company owns the team under the Mitsubishi Football Team. That's why the shirt's design and numbering is styled after the Mitsubishi brand.

I know - it was intended to be oxymoronic.

The kits are nice, really nice, but you just get fed up with them. What happened to the radicalness of the Coolmotion kits of 2002? We need some of that back in the fold.

The Adidas / Nike Coolmotion shirts were a disaster and were built for the extreme humidity in Korea/Japan.

It also forced players to wear the same dual-layer shirt, that often disintegrated because the excessive perforations that weakened the shirts. The extreme breathability created more problems than it solved.

Was a nice concept though.

I have a 2004-06 Spain Player spec Climacool jersey and I actually find the underlayer very uncomfortable and restricting. Probably explains why most players cut out the underlayer when they were around.

I like the kits ( even though they only differ slightly from the previous kits).
They are nice and simple, and nicely finished by the diamond pattern.

Did you hear what happened to Togo in Angola? Apparently Adebayor ran the length of the bus to celebrate in front of the gunners...

What the hell are you thinking? It's not funny. People died. Pls show some EQ b4 commenting.

STFU you stupid tit. It was obviously intended as a joke. You're right, we should respect the dead. However, it was made by a City fan mocking the antics of one of his own players. Nothing to worry about

And that shirt is absolutely sick, I wish Nike would use that template instead of the new ones for their WC2010 shirts...

This is a seriously classy shirt.

I'm lucky as I actually own one, thanks to a friend in Japan. The diamond design is a water mark kind of thing (as someone previously said). The front of the shirt is a light, smooth fabric. Which is also used for the sleeves. The back a sides of the shirt how ever is a mesh like material. I guess this is Nike playing with the same ideas as the new Umbro kits (using different materials for different parts). The coller just adds that little bit of retro to shirt.
The club badge is molded plastic. It actuall looks alright. The Nike logo and Stars are sewin in though.
Over all a very "censoredy" (if I can use the word) shirt.....which just happens to be a lot better than Yokohama's "Man U" kit and Kashima's one (couldn't think of anything clever)
