ireland umbro 2010 kit

In this video below you'll get more info about Umbro's new Ireland 2010 kit which was unveiled earlier this week.

The kit, which has been given a complete makeover with a darker shade of green - labelled St Patrick’s green - was unveiled at the Carroll’s FAI Store on Dublin’s Westmoreland Street on Monday, and will be available through the FSC Shop.

Features of the new kit include:

- Colour: The traditional colour of the Irish team was a darker shade of green rather than the Emerald Green of recent years. The shade for the new kit is called St Patrick’s Green which is one of the key changes from recent kits.

- Hooped socks: Worn by Irish teams through the 50’s and 60’s, including legends such as Johnny Giles. According to the FAI blurb, “it is believed that the hooped sock makes it harder for defenders to read what attackers are about to do”.

- Gold trim: Added to the new version of the FAI crest and the seam detail takes inspiration from the iconic caps awarded to players at the end of each international season.

- New Anthem jacket: As with the kit, no detail has been over looked and small touches like the ribbed collar and cuffs and the use of the gold Eire embroidery on the back neck, ensures that the Irish team will be ready for anything.

I prefer seeing Ireland wearing this shirt in World Cup than seeing France qualified by handball in WC.

It´s sooooooooo ridiculous to sell shirts with "special skill" fooling us normal people and doubting our intelligence.

If striped.......are believed to confuse the oponent, why does CELTIC not win the League, Cup, European contests all the time....

@ UMBRO, ADIDAS,NIKE,PUMA......just make shirts and shut up thinking the consumers are all complete idiot!

That jersey is really class. Absolutely the best I've seen among all of the new International kits. I also want to note that it's nice how they show Chicago in the second photo at 1:09. My hometown has such a huge Irish population.

Quality Kit!

Umbro really seem to have turned it around with the extra emphasis on tailoring the kit and keeping it aestetically simple ala England and Man City kits which are both class.

Counting down the days before my Red England shirt arrives and wishing Wolves will sign up with Umbro (and use Irelands kit template - Gold and Black would look awesome on that strip!)
