Watford 10/11 Burrda Home Football Kit

Watford revealed the new Watford FC home shirt for the forthcoming 2010/11 season. Sir Elton John unveiled the new shirt at his concert at Vicarage Road on Saturday but it goes on pre-sale from 8am this morning.

The BURRDA made replica kit is also sponsored by the Official Kit Supplier after they last week announced a two year deal with the Swiss international sportswear company.

The home strip once again features black shorts and this time has a red trim on the sleeves and round the neck, while there is also a retro red and black strip running down the shirt.

The back neck line is shaped with piping which frames an embroidered Hart from the Club crest and the base of the shirt is also finished with a red trim.

The two-year deal with BURRDA was announced last month and Watford's Chief Executive Officer, Julian Winter, is pleased the Club has gained a crucial new partner.

In a difficult financial climate, just attracting a sponsor is an achievement, but Winter believes it's the start of an important partnership.

He said: "It's a competitive market out there and a difficult economic climate.

"We were in dialogue with a couple of shirt manufacturers and the idea of a shirt manufacturer taking a shirt sponsorship was something we discussed.

"It is a new deal for us and BURRDA and a great opportunity to build a successful partnership."

The Swiss international sportswear manufacturer was impressed with the Hornets' ever blossoming Academy and the Club's vital place in the local community. This is something that Winter takes pride in.

He added: "If you refer back to the writing of a new plan for Watford, our Academy and Community are pivotal pillars in what we do, and what we all want for a sustainable Watford in the long term.

"I think BURRDA certainly bought into that and I think more and more often now partners in our Football Club are looking at how we're structured, the way we deliver, the things that we focus on and the progress we're making against that plan.

"So, they have joined us a year into that plan which is great, we've made some progress and they like what they've seen."

I really don't like that stripe, or the random edges of white to the main sponsor. Plus, why bother putting the sponsor on twice, we get it, you make the kit, you sponsor the team, just have one logo with the badge at the top in the middle!!!!!

I suspect it's on twice because they've been lazy and used an existing template, but yes, it does look daft with two logos.

true, but it's not exactly a new thing going on there. celtic, marseille, dundee united, bolton, blackburn

personally, i think the jersey itself is great, but i agree the manufacturer logo could use some work - not only in design, but in finish as well. i also think the "sponsor" logo is waaaaay too high on the shirt, and using a centered club badge only makes that more evident.

^ just to name a few clubs that have had the same logo/same logo plus a name as their kit provider's logo and their sponsor logo. just remembered wigan as well.

*scratch dundee united from that list. i'm trying to remember the club that had carbrini for both logos... i'm thinking last season or season before last?

Get rid of the small Burrda logo, you only need it once.

Not sure about the placement of the Burrda logos on the front, but the crest on the back is a nice touch, sort of thing you dont see with faceless templates from Nike, Umbro and Puma.

I quite like it! Good to see Burrda trying something different and not being unadventurous. Reminiscent of the 97-98 kit :)

It's actually really nice. Would look even better if it was a bit more "fitted" but still jolly good.

It's not bad but I do not like the huge BURRDA sponsor. It looks odd next to the smaller one. That's my only gripe

Tend to agree that there should only be one logo - would be nice if it was just the small one, but presumably they're paying us to have the big one splattered across it (not sure if last season's sponsors actually have paid us) so two it is.

Otherwise, nice shirt. Usual gripe - bring back red shorts!

That looks really good. Being a Swiss company I was expecting something dull and faceless but this looks great

Not bad. Seems like Burrrrrrrrrrrrrda are making quite a portfolio. The central sponsors logo is a touch on the large side perhaps.
With the 2 stripes down the side, its rather reminiscent of the 1997/1998 Mizuno home kit mind!

Well done Watford
Once again u proved u just want to be like us!
Now just need to drop the yellow for some lovely orange!

I always thought they played in orange and white in 70's? Who'd they get in the League cup anyway? I was away and missed the draw.

Just to echo whats been said really..
Decent effort but the logo/badge layout could have been better thought through.

PS Nice to the Hatter with a sense of humour (Bigbadmo) and yes., it is similar to the L't*n kit of the 70's. But just to add that Wfc also had one with go faster stripes back then.

That sponsor is utterly disgusting. It completely ruins an otherwise wonderful kit. By the way, that is a really goofy shot of Elton John.

Elton John is holding the shirt because there is no way he could pull it over that huge noggin:)

The new kit is banging and i cant wait to play in the new training gear and shirt. Talking of the kit i dont think the burrda being on the kit twice looks rubbish. It's just a coincidence that burrda is our sponsor and kit maker if we had no sponsor in the middle of our shirt it would look stupid and it would look like nobody wanted to sponsor us. ALTOGETHER I THINK BURRDA HAVE DONE A CRACKING JOB!!!!
