west brom albion 10-11 umbro home kit

Albion today revealed their new UMBRO away and home kit for the 2010/11 Barclays Premier League season - and you can pre-order yours now.

The shirt sport the logo of new principal club sponsor HomeServe, highlighting the home emergency repair expert's new phone number: 0800 247 999

Made from woven fabric, the new blue-and-white striped home shirt features 'zig zag' detailing and a classic-style collar to give a modern touch to the Baggies' traditional design.

The shirt will be worn with white shorts and socks and donned for the first time by the players against VVV Venlo in Holland on Saturday.

The club have also released their home (green) and away (blue) 2010/11 goalkeeper kits, which can also be pre-ordered now.

The home kit and both goalkeeper kits will go on sale on Friday, July 23 when pre-orders can also be collected in store.

Jon Florsheim, Chief Executive of HomeServe Membership, commented: "It is very exciting to see our home emergency number, 0800 247 999, proudly displayed on the great new West Bromwich Albion kit.

"In choosing a sponsorship partner we felt it was important to acknowledge our West Midlands roots and so we were very pleased to be able to strike a deal with West Bromwich Albion and support the team over the next season.

"As well as supporting the team, we will of course do our best to support the fans too, ensuring they never miss a game as a result of a home emergency!"

Thanks to Lee

if ever a sponsor logo ruined a shirt...

That's got to be pushing the limits of the size of sponsorship logo allowed on Premiership shirts. It's getting on for French-style sponsorship. It might be a nice kit but all I can see is sponsor sponsor sponsor.

absolutely. its a nice shirt too but its far too in your face. jvc and fly emirates look nice on arsenal shirts because they are simple and subtle. the one above is not

Terrible sponsor. Marseille had one like this years ago. No dignity whatsoever.

Sleeve stripes a bit untidy around the seam, but otherwise solid.

Marseille also have one like this on their new kits. I mean 'like this' in the way that it stands out rudely, ruining the shirt that would otherwise recieve an A+ in my book as well as many others.

Lovely kit, made to look totally ridiculous by that appalling drawing of a house in the middle. Surely West Brom must have had some say in the design of its corporate wear? You can't imagine an Arsenal or Man United having no say (e.g. AIG's corporate colours are blue and white, but that didn't make it onto United's red shirts). Also, wasn't there some sort of rule preventing numbers on the front of shirts not so long back?

What League are you in? Our Prem record is better than yours! so STFU!

Your Premier League record is nowhere near as good as Boro's. Boro have had 10+ seasons in the Prem and even finished 7th one year. You've had what, 4 or 5 years in the Prem and what's your highest finish? About 17th?

We've been in the Premier League 7 times last 8years. You have also been in the Premier League 7 times in the last 8 years. But we have played way better than you in our games.

It makes the big orange 188bet blobs on the bolton and wiggin shirts look almost acceptable.

For the life of I can't figure why they went with that sponsor style. The name of the company is crammed down for the sake of a phone number and some clipart. It completely dominates and ruins an otherwise classy and professional design.

This is my modest consolation to WBA fans to what could've been.

If they put the sponsor on like this (but with a white outline instead of a box, like the Sunderland shirt) it would look great...

Leaving the sponsor aside, what was the point of modernising as iconic a crest as West Brom's?
Reply | Reply with quote | Quote

+2 # 2010-07-09 11:30
Copyright issues, WBA needed to modernise the crest to take out copyright it, similar to Arsenal using their new crest in 2002

On the shirt, nice template there from umbro (Same as one used by Atletico Paranaense) , and it looks good here, but like everyone else has stated, stupid sponsor logo.

As a Plymouth Argyle fan I thought we had it bad with the Ginsters logo stuck on the front of our shirts but this is so much worse, it's the worst sponsor logo I can think of. As for the shirt itself, not bad but I don't like the detailing on the stripes though, I wish they'd leave stripes alone. In my opinion on a striped shirt nothing looks better than plain, simple stripes, any fiddling around with them just makes it worse.

wait till the argyle kits come out tomorrow... they put a bunch of teaser pics on the website. Apparently the home kits are going to be green with patches of black and white stripes and the Ginsters logo is still in a huge red circle

0 # 2010-07-09 21:35
I agree that stripes should have a clean, sharp edge. Stoke's a mess this year with the fuzzy edges as well. It's already been said many times above but this is absolutely the ugliest, most blatant sponsor logo ever. Who would buy this shirt?

Wow would West Brom approve of that stupid sponsor logo? I mean it has a freakin phone number on it. It's like a little league team's kit. This kit is a disgrace to the English Premiership. Just another reason why I didn't want West Brom to get promotion. Pathetic.

This is what happens when money comes into sport... It looks like one of those 10 cent child stickers have been stuck upon the shirt while it was being manufactured and they left it on there...otherwise from the sponsor the rest of the shirt is brilliant...especially the stitching...would have been a great shirt...

I agree, this is one of the best ever shirt designs (great work Umbro, great work Albion) that is totally ruined by one of the worst ever sponsor logos (shame on you Homeserve, shame on you Albion for accepting it). This shirt would have been one of the best sellers ever had it not been for that silly giant red house that so overshadows everything else that there is little point of having the WBA crest or even any design other than the red house. It makes it appear that WBA not only changed their crest, but that they changed to a huge red house.
