Italy 1213 Puma Home Shirt leaked

Here is what appears to be the new shirt for the Italian Men's National Team for 2012 - 2013 we believe and to be used in the 2012 European Championship in Poland and Ukraine.

The new Azzuri shirt has a more traditional design that it's previous incarnation with a folded collar just as many shirts during the 80's and 90's did. The collar is in white with the Italian tricolor around the edge.

The rest of the shirt appears to have a design of lines going diagonally down and meeting in the middle to form a kind of chevron pattern.

Thanks to iznogoud

What do you think? Will this be the shirt the Italians where at Euro 2012? Do you think the shirt is likely to be different?

Of course you are entitled to have an opinion. When you publish that opinion on the internet however, people are entitled to have their opinion about your opinion.

If you're sensitive about getting thumbs down, don't post.

Not really. You're thinking of the Italy shirt of 1995:

The Euro 96 shirt was completely different:

Well done to the 38 n00bz who wrongly agreed with you though. :P

The Italian national team wear blue because it is the colour of Savoia, the ruling house of Italy from 1861 to 1946. Until the end of the second world war, the Italian flag always had the Savoy coat of arms in the centre, and it was only after the family were overthrown, and the Italian Republic established in 1946, that the plain tricolor was adopted as the national flag.

Thats because the dutch flag was originally orange-white-light blue. They have changed it to red-white-dark blue because they saw that the old flag would get darker when exposed to the sun and the orange turned red, so they just made a red-white-dark blue flag that would not change colour in the sun :-|

I'm sorry, but that's really not true...

Orange is the color of the Dutch Royal Family. The lineage of the current dynasty -- the House of Oranje-Nassau -- dates back to Willem van Oranje (William of Orange). But while the color orange has royal roots in the Netherlands, today it symbolizes a broader pride in the country and in being Dutch.

Oranje = Orange

Italy, Netherlands, Australia, Japan, Germany, Northern Ireland (which flag is white-red, not like the Republic of Ireland green-white-orange), Ghana, Venezuela, New Zealand (rugby=black, football=white), etc.
A lot of national teams have shirts that not resemble their flags. Sometimes its a symbolic colour for the country, sometimes only for superstitious reasons: Brazil became green-gold with blue shorts after their defeat in World Cup 1950 against Uruguay (a true tragedy for Brazilian people), before that their were completely white with a blue collar. Japan instead decided to wear blue after a victory (I read this, but not sure if it's true).
Germany not only has a classical white-black kit, but also their away kit is usually green.

The collar either can make a shirt or ruin it sometimes...looks like this one ruins it. Guess not desire to buy a new Italy kit till 2015.

Will have to see how high the collar sticks up, but is Puma trying to make the Azzurri look terrible these days?

Great shirt, will be one of the classics. Its way better than the World Cup 2010 shirt.
Top 5 Italy shirts:
1.) Euro 1996
2.) World Cup 2006
3.) Confed cup 2009
4.) Euro 1996 qualifying
5.) World Cup 1994
And not far behind is Euro 2000 and this 1. :D

Not one of their better efforts.

The Euro 2000 kit is far better. Should have gone for a 1980s feel like Germany have rather than a mid 90s look.

Don't like the white collar but I like the flag trim. Should have gone blue and the fabric should have been less bling.

The Tailored by Umbro kits are a good reference.
