This is the new Peruvian national team third shirt produced by Umbro for 2011/2012.
The shirt has been specially produced to commemorate the only Peruvian team to make it to a World Cup quarter-final so far before being knocked out by eventual champions and one of the most famous teams of all-time, Brazil. In a time when the away shirt didn't feature Peru's now famous sash design, the South American wore a solid red design to play again Bulgaria where they mirculously won 3-2 from being 2-0 behind with all 3 goals scored in the second half of the game.
The shirt itself is may remind you of the current England away shirt but with a collar, and you're right, except that and the logo and a couple of other minor things such as a miniture rosette at the bottom of the shirt and different authentication marks. But with such an important meaning behind the shirt to Peruvian football fans, and such a close resemblance to the 1970's shirt, it's sure to evoke stong feelings for a nation lacking in in the football glory department.
