Ajax Cape Town 11/12 adidas home & away kit

These are the Ajax Cape Town a new look home and away kit for the 2011/2012 season. The new kit – which the team will use for the first time during the MTN8 Cup match on Friday evening – was unveiled at a media function at the Cape Town Stadium.

The home jersey resembles last season’s jersey with the main difference being the return of the collar.

“The Ajax Cape Town jersey is a continuation of the proud tradition at Ajax Amsterdam which has seen us produce a unique, world class home jersey every season without deviating from the traditions of the club. However, and on the away we went for a younger bolder look, using tonal striping and Columbia Blue and Dark Navy,” says Zobuzwe Ngobese, the Public Relations Manager at adidas South Africa.

Both jerseys feature climacool technology - a combination of performance fabrics, open mesh and ventilation channels which keep cool air flowing in and heat and sweat flowing out. Climacool works by considering how and where the body produces heat and sweat, and focus’s specific fabric and garment features in those zones. The effect is that athletes stay dry, comfortable and perform at their peak in even the most heated competitions.

George Comitis the Ajax Cape Town CEO said, “We are proud and honoured and to be associated with adidas. They are a premium sports brand and as a football club we always strive to be the best therefore the association with adidas enables Ajax Cape Town to look the part. The kit for the new season is immaculate and when we go onto the field, from our PSL team down to our juniors, the community scheme coaches as well as all our staff, we will be proud to wear the new adidas kit which is world class”.

Does this kit have the same details as the Ajax Amsterdam kit, i don't think this kit will have the dutch text "wij zijn AJAX" and i also think that there won't be any old Ajax logo's on the back since Ajax cape town never had those historic logo's??

Absolutely stunnning kit. Smooth, silky and class written all over it. The silky kit will create the silky skills on the pitch. That is how much beleive in this kit. The sponsor does spoil the colour combination. They need to asked if they would be happy to change their colour to silver. then that would be the perfect kit.

if there is going to be global franchises of the Ajax "brand" then maybe each team should have a slight variation other than just a different city on the badge and a different sponsor

they could all have the famous Ajax design, just in different colours

Amsterdam = white with red stripe
Cape town = White with Blue?

Then how about...

Dublin = White with Green
Sydney = White with Orange
Dallas = white with Purple
Dubai = White with yellow
Beijing = White with Black....

etc

Ajax Capetown is owned by Ajax Amsterdam. These are the same kits as Ajax have released this season with a different sponsor. Is that so hard to understand.

Thanks for pointing that out, I honestly don't think that anyone else would have realised this if you hadn't piped up -

as you can see from everyone else's comments we were all sooooo confused before you came along to put uds straight

you must feel like such a hero as you really have saved the day for us all here

on behalf of everyone on FSC - I just wanna say thanks

Actually, most of you were confused. So a little less sarcasm and a lot more genuine gratitude.

On a different note; their collar reminds me of Feyenoord. That can't be right.

Wow, I didn't know they actually owned them both, I thought some Ajax fan founded the s.a. Club. Does it mean they can transfer players between clubs at will ?

The yellow square is what wrecks the look. I'd be willing to overlook the blue oval logo, but that yellow square is just going completely overboard.

Well Ajax Cape Town is an homage to the dutch team. It seems south africans are as creative as the americans at picking names. At least you don't get Birmingham, Rome and Venice in South Africa. Anyway, jokes aside, I would love to see south african football emerge and be represented at the Club World Cup one day.

OMG seriously, south africans didn't decide on the name! the club was formed in '98 between Cape Town Spurs and Seven Stars to form Ajax Cape Town in which Ajax Amsterdam has a 51 percent share, they don't buy all of ajax Cape Town's players... due to Ajax Amsterdams pursuit of cheap talent that will be able to be bought by them and sold later on at a higher price, and no they cant change their kit colours cause then it wouldn't be ''Ajax" would it? There was an Ajax Orlando too, no not cause the Americans couldn't make up a different name......... do your research before randomly making assumptions. I come from Cape Town..
