Argentina Home 11/12 (Lionel Messi)

These are the new Argentina home and away kits manufactured by adidas for 2011/2012, which will be available here.

This new kits will be worn by Argentina throughout the forthcoming Copa América tournament taking place in Argentina itself later this year and also other friendly games between now and then.

The kit is the usual combination of blue and white stripes but is more toned down in the stripe department that it's previous counterpart. The shirt now only contains two wide, white stripes on a background of 'celeste' or light blue being the rough English equivalent. the design of the shirt is in a similar template to that of the Spain shirt revealed a few weeks ago, with a slightly lighter shade of side panelling. The shirt is almost completely white and light blue except for a touch of gold and some black in the logos to break it up.

A main change to this shirt from previous versions is that now the crest is place within a shield on a black background which makes it a lot more eye catching than previous editions. Sticking with the crest, there is also an embossed pattern behind it which looks like laurel wreaths and also the 'Sol de Mayo' (Sun of May) from the Argentine flag. On the back of the shirt there is more detailing of laurel leaves on the gold piping crossed over blue-white-blue bands of the national flag.

The away shirt is a dark shade of blue with spaced out bands in a gradient style across the top of the chest in the colours  in the national colours. As with the home a small use of gold is also present in this shirt but comes across more prominently given the dark base colour of the shirt, the gold present in the crest is particularly strong given this.

I don't like the longer "short" sleeves on recent Adidas shirts like the home one, but otherwise I agree - another stripe or two and normal length sleeves it'd be 10/10

totally agree... I can't imagine that longer short sleeves are more comfortable, so is it to add designs on the sleeve?

It most definitely is! Not designs, per se, but patches for the Copa América.

Two white stripes per side is not enough usually, and I personally think you are right about this jersey...Now AC Milan's jersey definately needed more stripes

Go and look at Nikes collar on the Man Utd or Celtic tops look's the same ???? I think Adidas is doing a little bit of copying!!!!! But still a great home top will get one for sure.

May be wrong but I think the home collar is the same as used on the France shirt before the World Cup, the 2 tone blue one, kind of the same idea as the away kit above has started...The France shirt is in my closet but i am too lazy to confirm just now! Might be wrong though!

The majority of the teams changed their kits after the World Cup.

I like it but the home socks should be white!

Absolutely astonishing!

I tend to be more of a "traditionalist", not being a fan of makeovers to unique and very traditional soccer kits, such as Argentina's. Yet, what Adidas has done here, really looks brilliant!

Very well done!

I'm definitely getting the new home jersey...

Been down on this seasons Adidas kits but both of those are nice. Especially the away kit. It reminds me of the one France wore a year or two ago. Can't remember which year. Hopefully the replica kits aren't so cheap looking. If not, I think I'll buy the away kit.
