We showed you a leaked picture a few months ago, but today the Gunners reveal their new away kit, available to pre-order today, Tuesday, June 28, 2011. Capturing the spirit and history of Arsenal Football Club, the new away shirt features a specially designed crest to highlight the proud origins of the Club 125 years ago.
The celebratory badge design features 15 laurel leaves to the left side of the Club's crest to reflect the detail on the reverse of the sixpence pieces paid by 15 men to establish the Club in Woolwich in 1886. The 15 oak leaves to the right of the crest pay tribute to the founders who would meet in the local Royal Oak pub. Underneath the crest is one of the Club's first recorded mottos - 'Forward' - with the anniversary dates of 1886 and 2011 either side.
The front of the new away shirt is divided into two halves, one navy blue and one turquoise blue, inspired by the away kits worn by Arsenal teams from the past. The diagonal line represents the gnomon (the pointer) which casts the shadow on a sundial - to commemorate the original Dial Square sundial on the site of the Arsenal munitions factory in Woolwich, where the Club was founded in 1886.
The back of the shirt is entirely navy blue, with one sleeve navy and the other turquoise blue. A stripe runs down each sleeve, broken into three parts to further represent the Dial Square sundial.
The away shorts are navy blue, as are the socks, which have the year of Arsenal's foundation - 1886 - printed in white on the back of each calf.
On the back of the shirt below the neck reads ‘Arsenal', while inside the front, on the back of the crest, is a graphic that reads ‘Victoria Concordia Crescit', (‘Victory Through Harmony'), Arsenal's Latin motto, which was previously featured on earlier versions of their club crest between 1949 and 2002.
The new away kit is made from Nike's ground-breaking recycled polyester, which this season for the first time includes both the shirt and shorts. Each complete kit is made up of up to 13 reclaimed plastic water bottles. The improved Nike Dri-Fit fabric, now 13 per cent lighter than previous kits, helps to quickly evaporate moisture, drawing it through the fabric to the surface to keep players dry.
The kit is available for pre-order from Tuesday, June 28 and will be in stores from Thursday, July 28, 2011.

But now I've seen it on the players, with the shorts and socks, I actuallyreally like it.
Could we have the best 2 kits in the Prem for the 2nd year running?
Look at Liverpool!
125th anniversary and such crap kits. WHY!
But apart from that I like the style.

Adidas launch a kit and the usual people harp on about them using standard templates and that Nike are so much better!!......
Nike are the kings of the standard template and often recycle designs every few years. At the world cup, every team had the same stupid name tag on the back of the neck, which continued onto club shirts last season and every goalkeeper had exactly the same design. That theme seems to be continuing for the new season....
Every new Nike kit I have seen so far has used exactly the same template for the keeper's shirt.....
It's NORMAL that companies use templates : they can't design unique kits for every single professional club in the world!
Therefore, they put effort into 4 to 8 great designs and the clubs decide their colours within that range of kits.
That's the way it is, so yes, adidas, Nike, Umbro, Puma and every other company have templates!
The leaked picture of a few months ago was horrible, but seeing it like this on the pictures it looks quite good.
Also... how big is that badge
The white sleeves look as flimsy as toilet paper or best yet Fulham Kappa strip.
I was expecting better from Nike, maybe use 2 more recycled water bottles to make any white kit look more durable and less like cling film. The USA WC kit looked just as thin.
This is an honest critique Nike.
I like the GK kit a lot, though. I really like the mock turtleneck collars on the new Nike GK shirts.
1. We all knew that this was the Arsenal away kit about a month ago
2. The keeper kit is a template
FAIL
By the fact that it has an arsenal badge on it and it is not their home kit
and this is way out there, too far gone.....
what about a solid redcurrent home kit with a gold badge, like the highbury kit everyone loves,
and a dark blue away with turqouise sleeves, white badge?
Can you please clarify, this kit and similar ones all say that its better for moisture management , breathability etc etc this year , does this mean the replicas also , or only the authentic player shirts ,....cuz to me its pure crap that every year we have to pay 40GBP plus for a new shirt and other than the design, nothing is new....
arsenal: blue ??? where is the fault?
what were they thinking?
cheap perfect jersey from thailand
btw it's stupid how people complain about they want the away kit to be white, yet criticise this colourway to be "like spurs".
