Aston Villa 2011/12 Nike Away Shirt Leaked

This is apparently the new Aston Villa away shirt for the 2011/2012 English Premier League season manufactured by Nike.

Villa have already unveiled their new home kit for the new season which also features a similar checkered design as this but in the more traditional claret and blue colouring.

The design of the back of the shirt can be expected to be like the home and also feature the pattern. Shorts and socks are predicted to both be claret coloured with a blue trim.

Thanks to Christopher

You don't even know what a Hun is, stop saying offensive things like that because your fathers have used the term on the teraces, I wouldnt even think of saying the 'F' word (And I don't mean F uck) to a Celtic fan.

We play in Glasgow. Our origin is Glasgow. Our club is Rangers FC but we play in Glasgow, therefore we are Glasgow's Rangers.

I actually like the checkers, but I'm not wild about the fact that they are quite so sublimated. If the checkers were white and blue I would be entirely behind this shirt as a great, eye-catching alternate shirt. But as things stand I just find it a bit dull.

Everyone criticising nike shirts but since they started making shirts they have all been pretty awesome, Especially the 09-10 home shirt and 08-09 away. However this year is dreadful from the images. The checks were ok last year due to it being more subtle and making the shirts different, but now looks poor. Very disappointing.

Just about sums up Villa as they approach the 2011/12 season bidding to beat the drop and survive relegation.
Used to be a good team aswell, then Melburg went, then Martin O'Neill, then Barry and Milner, the Friedle and Cashley Young! Downings goin aswell. Only a matter of time before youz sign Lee Hendrie back.

Nike are trying to add checkerboard to the identity of clubs like Aston Villa and PSV. This is the 2nd year that both clubs have had checkerboard designs or details on both home and away kits.

the kit is simple and it looks more than decent. it does resemble croatia's model but that doesn't count for nothing.

Villa have just been ripping of Croatia for the last couple of years (last season's home shirt followed very closely to the Croatian away shirt, just with claret and blue colours) and this is the next step.

I generally don't think that cheque designs look good, apart from on the Croatian kit where the šahovnica crest inspires it.

I'm sure there's a link to villa and the checkered design, I think the fans wave claret and blue cheque flags, maybe the reason why. Nike have drawn up some very nice villa kits but the past last and this season are awfull

why do people keep saying Villa are trying to copy Croatia? the checks are used to symbolise the origin of Villa's colours, which they got from a local pub that had Claret and Blue checks at he top of the windows, or something like that. Looks OK but will be much better when properly revealed (this pic comes from another sports outlet's website), when on the players and seen IRL then the kit could look classy.

What's with the checkers? It's become a theme of Aston Villa tops over the last few years. Was that ever a traditional theme for them?

Nevertheless, I like this one a lot. It's classy even with checkers.

will look better with a sponsor, i think.. not a typically bad kit, but nike has the financial backbone and global employement to get a decent team onto every kit. nike have been fairly slack with shirt sponsorships since (noticeably) the world cup in 2010. so much potential and international renown to do and manufacture better products. not bad, but it can be so much more.
