aston villa 11-12 nike home kit

This is the new Aston Villa 11/12 home football kit made by Nike. Blending the best of classic football style and performance fabrics, the Aston Villa Home Shirt 2011 has a clean and refined look. New for the 2011/12 Premier League, the Aston Villa club crest has also been uplifted with a silver stripe embroidered around the AVFC shield.

The men's Aston Villa Home Shirt 2011/12 is designed to be fast, modern and get supporters thinking about tradition. The historic Aston Villa claret & blue colours are revealed with a chequered pattern across the chest and light-blue short sleeves for added contrast.

The ultra-light Aston Villa Home Shirt 2011 is crafted with Nike's innovative recycled polyester for the ultimate comfort during the game. Keeping you cool and dry, the laser-perforated Dri-Fit fabric improves airflow to the body and moves sweat away from the skin.

•Light blue short sleeves with red-speed stripe
•'Aston Villa' team ID printed at the back of the neck
•Nike Swoosh logo embroidery
•Printed club crest
•Lightweight fit for improved comfort

For West Ham's first game, they did not have a strip. They borrowed Villa's and have kept the colours as a kind of tribute and as part of their tradition.

Not impressed, surely Nike/Adidas will run out of Designs for their Shirts soon as they are just making the minimal of changes to them every Year but i guess they haven't got much choice when Clubs want to stick to their roots where Shirts are concerned IE Claret Body & Blue Sleeves..

I love how they put the R on the sock so you know which one to put on what foot!

What is with all the checkered style they are creating on the shirt? they did it last (this) season, and well you're kit isn't the nicest this season.

And white socks? aren't you losing your clubs colours there a bit? shouldn't it be light blue or claret?

I thought you were getting rid of FXPro?

Other than that it's nicely proportioned and the detail is sharp.

I would personally rate it 6.5/10

you censoreding idiot, all high performace socks have that, the socks are cut and designed for each foot so to put them on backwards not only means your a twat, but also are really uncomfortable,

L/R are used on socts across sports when there socks are high tec, where you been the last 15 years?

Its nothing to do with high performance socks, it's so you know which foot to use to kick the ball when playing on the wing

Ben you bung do you not think that maybe the sponsor is just for illustration purposes until some big razzle dazzle deal is announced? I reckon 188Bet or 888Bet or 99Bet or whatever else is ruining the shirts this time around

@Ben - Its not a fake, the templates are always made from the day after the release of the old shirt, when FXpro were still official sponsor, but the new shirt will have the new sponsor...and from what I have heard is going to be a big international mobile phone company, and this is the actual design.

The actual design of the shirt is quite smart. I like the raglan sleeves especially - it gives a really natural fitted look to kits.

However, I'm really not keen on shirts that have designs and team colours printed on white fabric. It would be much nicer if the check pattern was woven into the claret. Villa's a big team and they sell a lot of shirts. Come on Nike, finish the job properly.

they should really adopt an MLS mentality when releasing kits.

MLS teams are allowed to release new kits every 2 years. so you can release a new away kit one year, and a new home kit the next. or even both every two years! it'll stop the cash grab that's become the EPL kit release.

plus, it'll force manufactures to create a quality kit with a good screening process. if they outfit a team like shit, they're going to hear about it for two years!!
Reply | Reply with quote | Quote

+2 # 2011-05-08 10:03
yet adidas is the sole sponsor of kits in the mls...and everything they make is template-based :(

would be great in any league though. a new home shirt every year just results in lack of creativity, and too much same-ness.. :/

Not bad. Keeps the checkers that the club seems to have adopted recently while maintaining the classic color scheme.

And since I'm here, I can't help but make a suggestion for the away kit. Primarily white with sky blue checkers and sleeves, matching sky blue bottoms and socks. Keeps the checker design aesthetic while being different enough to work as a change kit, and allowing them to mix and match pieces as necessary, so they could wear all white with the blue checkers breaking up the monocolor dullness, or a claret/sky blue/sky blue look if they so desire. The classic claret/white/white would still be the most often used of the bunch, of course.

Get rid of that stupid swoosh and giant sponsor logo across the front and it's perfect. Also the superfluous logo on the back collar -- from far away that'll be just an ugly white smudge.

Aston Villa's distinctive claret and sky blue look so good. Stop sullying it with these insipid logos and adverts!

I think the shirt would look better with a `fitted look`. The shorts are too long and not tight enough. The socks should be short and black. And no boots just `slip on` black plimsols would look smashing.

When is Doug Ellis give going to give `Big Ron` (England` first ever black international goalkeeper) the funds he needs to make us a `top club`. Then we should go out and buy Gary Lineker, Chris Waddle, Mark Hateley and Pongo Waring. Villa for the Cup! Play up you Villans!

I hope it is not a fake as I like the shading on the shoulders. The shorts seem quite flexible and the socks look nice and comfy.

Im not sure of this one. I dont think it represents the true nature of what we are all about. It doent really say "We are Villa" . It says to me "I like going to bed with a nice cup of cocoa and a good book with my vest securely tucked in my pants". I want our shirt to be loud and proud. I want to feel special when I wear it in Morrison`s. I want people to say "There is a proper Villa fan, he`s proud to wear that shirt in the Supermarket even though he`s probably never been to a game". I like the white sock`s though.

Would like it better if it had an airbrushed style picture on the front of the shirt, of Bobby Ball dressed as a native american indian, riding a horse with the full moon behind him, .

I like the thought of an airbrushed style sponsor as suggested by Lord Anthony. Maybe one of Elvis dressed as a cowboy riding a bull in a rodeo with lots of people standing around him clapping at his riding ability and the fact that his hat never falls off. In the crowd there are past and present Aston Villa players and managers, all of them dressed as cowboys. Richard Dunne dressed all in black, looking menacing. Darren Bent in dungarees carring a pitchfork. And of course, Gerald Houllier dressed as Doris Day in `Calamity Jane`. What do you think?

I'm liking Mr Twitty! They could all wear black t-shirts with an airbrushed picture of Tony Morley on the front... as a wolf. Well... part wolf / part red indian.

I have to disagree with a lot of people on here. I really don't like this shirt. Don't like the design. The chequered designed looked good on one of West Hams recent home shirts and Liverpools light grey away from a few years back, but they squares were smaller on those and they didn't have the whole different colour shoulder/arm panel thing going on. I much prefer this seasons with the little chequered stripe down the sides. Just my opinion though.

I too have been looking at this site for far too long now. The bones in my arms and legs have liquified, steam pours from my face 24 hours a day and I have begun to grow hair internally. I agree with Magoo, the squares on the chequered pattern are far too large. Imagine Gary Shaw in that, especially with the size of his teeth.

I like this, the chequered style is a required taste, like marmite! But I like both of them. Just need a new midfielder and strike partner for Bent to wear it. Oh and hopefully no Reo censoreder to wear it.

It better still say 'pride of Birmingham' on the inside of the badge. Always a nice touch.

aparently the new kit will be sponsered by htc. i seen a mock up somewhere and it looks pretter decent. just normal white writing. im not a huge fan of when sponsers get there own colours on the front of a teams shirt (like bolton). i think it just looks out of place. then again i would like a shirt without a sponser what so ever. and none of this synthetic sort of cotton :/
