Atlético Paranaenese 2011 Umbro Home

This is the new Atlético Paranaenese home shirt produced by Umbro in commemoration of the club's 87 year anniversary and to be used for one game only.

The club launched the new kit at the weekend in a Campeonato Paranaense match at home to struggling side Cascavel in which they won 2-0. This match was used as it is the date closest to the foundation date of the club, the 26th of March. The shirt is a reimagination the the first few that were worn in the first few since the founding of the club and also 1925, the season when Atlético-PR won their first major title.

Very nice lace-up collar, evoking memories of Man United's 1992-94 home shirt, but it's a shame this is a special one-off to commemorate their 87th anniversary. What a random anniversary to mark. It smacks of a rip-off, a cash-in, to me.

Does anyone know if they are keeping it sponsor free because of this special anniversary, or will the in game kit be covered in sponsors like most south american teams? I really hope they do the former because sponsors could ruin this fantastic kit.

What a beauty, Always liked the hoops....a la....Celtic.....QPR. The Umbro logo in white stands out from the red/black shirt colour. Collar is unique.

i always thought special edition shirts should commemorate anniversaries such as 50th, 100th and/or every 10th year after the 100th.

now we have a 87th anniversary! what's next? soon we will have a new young club coming up with 1st anni shirt.
