Barnsley 11-12 nike home football shirt

Barnsley FC's new home kit for the 2011/12 season by Nike has been unveiled.

The kit benefits from Nike's innovative, technical design and features their Dri-FIT technology and engineered ventilation systems to help keep players cool, coupled with ergonomic fit and soft cotton feel for player comfort.

* Dri-FIT fabric to keep sweat away and help keep you dry and comfortable
* Collar and bonded button placket for ventilation and a modern feel
* Barnsley crest on left chest

The new shirt, shorts and socks will go on sale shortly.

It's like an anti-kit design, perhaps a post modernist statement against the overuse of gaudy adornment in our image obsessed society.

Its literally just a red shirt. Poor Barnsley they put money into a big name like nike and get this crock of poo. I hate to use that awful cliche sunday league style but with this there really is no other option.

Does anyone know if Barnsley are actually signed up to Nike or is it through some team wear supplier like Just Sports? For what its worth I think the kit looks too plain, and the Barnsley crest looks too small as well.

Great work by nike, love the block red like back in the old days. Hopefully away strip will be just as plane but white shirts black shorts.. Back to the glavin years ect. Other fans other than barnsley fans wouldnt know this so should keep the gobs shut. Barnsley fc .....

It seems as though this kit isn't well liked on here. Well I'd just like to say a big thumbs up to BFC because, on the forum for example, this is exactly what we have been asking for, a classic shirt no stupid white bits all over it and a collar. Barnsley shirts are red we don't want fancy designs etc. Yes the crest could be a bit bigger and maybe they could have put something on to commemorate our centenary of winning the fa cup but apart from that it is absolutely spot on and I will be purchasing mine. Have a look at Bolton's recent kits if you want to see what adding loads of bits and bobs does.

Not sure about this. I kind of like the idea of a simple one colour polo shirt, but the additional Perrys sponsor on the back undermines the concept. Badge and Nike logo look a bit too high up as well.
