brazil 11-12 nike home football shirt

We already showed you some leaked pictures of the new Brazil 11/12 Home football shirt, but today Nike officially launched the new home and away shirts.

The new Brazil kits will be available here.

Crafted from 13% lighter fabric that uses up to 8 recycled plastic bottles per jersey, the boldly durable design represents pinnacle kit design for Nike Football.

• Crew-neck design provides a comfortable, non-restricting fit.
• Bonded hem offers a streamlined look that reduces the irritation caused by chafing.
• Team crest on the left chest is heat transferred for a bold way to show Brasilian national pride.
• Patriotic screenprint graphics of “Brasil” on the back and the Brasilian flag on the inside of the neck for subtle design details.
• Dri-FIT fabric to wick sweat away and help keep you dry and comfortable.
• Considered Design* for high performance and low environmental impact.

apart from the obvious comments about the design, the panelling on the side and back of the shirt is like the shirt from the 2002 world cup

To me this kit is "change for the sake of change," not because it's necessary. I really wish clubs with classic looks like Brazil would keep their classic shirts unchanged, but the world we live in dictates they all need "brand new" unis every 1-2 years. Sigh.

I think this looks better than the teal away shirt. But the rectangular numbers just about kill it for me.

Nike Designer 1 - "Hmm... what to do about the new Brazil jersey...?"
Nike Designer 2 - "Ah, well, I say we go classic, like Umbro! Plain yellow shirts!"
Nike Designer 1 - "No no; Umbro's too pompous with their 'tailored-by' trash. We're NIKE! We're ORIGINAL! We brought thunderbolts back into fashion!"
Nike Designer 2 - "Well technology's 'hip' and 'cool' with the kids nowdays..."
Nike Designer 1 - "Are you downloading Ke$ha over there?"
Nike Designer 2 - "Why yes, it's done-- see the download bar? It's green."
Nike Designer 1 - "We'll put THAT on the jersey! GENIUS!"

The CBF Marketing Director said that this green line on the chest of the shirt is the to resemble the paintings of the native-brazilians do on their body when they go to war...

To me, that's a crap talk... by the way, the indians (or native-brazilians) do a way more elaborated painting that this horrible "download bar"... se this pictures below and you'll understand what I'm talking about...

This is what I was saying when we first saw the shirt a few weeks ago. I don't mind the "download bar" per se. But if they're gonna give us some "indigenous" crap reasoning, at least put a cool patterned design inside the "download bar." I think that would've been much better than what we see now.

Is it just me or does the actual shirt itself look unhappy? If the download bar is the mouth and the Nike swoosh and Brasil crest are the eyes. Even the shirt doesn't like itself.

Was hoping the earlier leaked design was not going to be the actual shirt. This shirt is an apalling effort and by far the worst Brazil shirt that I have ever seen. Lazy lazy lazy.... The old Topper, Umbro shirts were even better than this piece of crap. How difficult is it to design a yellow shirt with a green collar for heaven sake. No disrepect to Norwich City but even they have a better shirt (same colours!)..

instead of slapping on the bloody green bar right it middle showing NO EFFORT WAS PUT, they could have incorporate the green around the ringer and the tip of the sleeves. i mean at least make it look decent.

'The boldly durable design represents pinnacle kit design for Nike Football.'

No it doesn't - The pinnacle will be when manufacturers put the away shirt on the reverse of the home shirt.

That is a really awful kit, the sleeves look like they are made out of synthetic shammy cloth, the numbers look bad and the clincher is the really unnecessary gaffer tape on the front.

0 out of 10, much prefer the previous Brazil kit, even if it does have a Teamwear equivalent.

Why do they keep moving badges higher and higher? they'll end up being on the shoulder soon. What's wrong with them being on the chest like they used to be http://www.nndb.com/people/236/000024164/

also dont think it needs to say brasil under the badge.

Did anyone notice that the shirt robinho and pato are wearing is not the same as this shirt? It seems that Nike is trying to maximise profits once again by creating a replica jersey and then a fully-authentic jersey for twice the price that now looks distinctly different.

0 # 2011-02-03 23:30
Ok you stupid nike representatives. Stop marking down my comment and get a life. Look at the sleeves people. On the robinho, pato shirt it is like a rought material. On the replica shirt, the top part of the sleeve is a smooth material, and the underneath is typical mesh-type fabric.

I LOVE the classic gold base colour but the download bar, censored man-boob preventing bar, warrior paint bar thing just ruins it.

The huge "BRASIL" type ruins the beautiful crest, Nike trying to remind us who they are. Patronising idiots!!

I like it I don't know why people don't like it what to the people want a censoreding mural. If a brand tries too hard people complain that it's too busy if they do something simple and clean people say it's not enough. Its nice simple and clean and nice looking. Plus as much as I like the world of football kits at the end of the day its just a shirt its. Not going to win or lose a. Game for Brazil. Plus I think once people start seeing the kit on players it will look nice. Plus look at our England kit people said the same thing about it and look how much of a hit it is.

Making fans poorer while they continue to release garbage like this.

Terrible, just terrible. Though perhaps they'll give the strip a retro makeover in time for 2014.

The shirt itself looks like a training shirt, and I can't help but the green strip was an afterthought.

Seriously, what is up with that single horizontal green bar?
It's like they were customizing it on paint or something and they selected a green bar and instead of moving and playing around with it they just looked at their watches and thought "lunch time"

WTF is that ??? I can't call that crap "shirt" ... Because it's not ! The "Download bar theory" is perfectly acceptable .
And i'm not just saying this because the whole kit sucks.
I'm saying this because i'm brazilian, and only three things can piss brazilians off :
1 : extremely ugly women ;
2 : warm beer ;
3 : and a shitty uniform for our national team...

But ... We have hot and beautiful women and cold beer ... so, the national team kit is just a minor trouble.

Will that green bar on the chest work like one of those strips found on the side of Duracell batteries? It starts off green, but as the minutes wear on and the sweat builds up as the players tire, it gradually wears down until after 90 minutes, the bar vanishes to the same yellow colour as the rest of the shirt to indicate a player's energy levels?

Now that would be a gimmick worth seeing on a football shirt! It'd make deciding which players to substitute a lot easier, too.

they're kind of paid for creating original shirts...

if all national team only had plain shirt with their main colours it wouldnt be much fun either

i personnally thought the 2010 shirt was so boring, this at least is different, there will always be Training shirts for those who prefer plain shirts (which can be beautiful too of course !)

one big thing that pisses me off is the whole idea of selling "replicas" and "authentic" shirts. If I decide to give Nike 60€ to get the same shirt as a a national team, I EXPECT IT TO BE THE SAME AS THE NATIONAL TEAM

more than 100€ for a football shirt ? please, i love football but i'm not crazy
