chelsea 2011 2012 adidas away football shirt

Chelsea Football Club and adidas unveiled the new away shirt for the 2011/12 season, which will be available here.

Turquoise squares are set on a black background to create a striking design, while the shorts also feature a turquoise strip and the famous three adidas stripes in white. The socks include a revolutionary design that features anatomically placed cushioning and an Achilles protector.

The new kit will be worn for the first time when we play Hong Kong champions Kitchee in our opening game of the Barclays Asia Trophy on July 27.

The shirt can be pre-ordered online for delivery on launch day, 7 July.

The playing shirt features the adidas techfit™ technology which will help improve speed, increased endurance capabilities and enhanced awareness. This works by stabilising and focusing the muscles' energy to generate explosive acceleration and deliver maximum power output.

The replica shirt incorporates adidas ClimaCool™ technology, a mixture of heat and moisture controlling materials, ventilation channels

Thanks to Alby and David

So true, their away and 3rd kits in 2009-10 weren't bad, IMO. Only problem was the home looked silly.

mildly interesting, by large adidas has not produced either quality or memorable chelsea kits, this perhaps ranks as one of the better ones.

there are irritations, though; would it have been so distracting to produce the same design on the back? bear in mind that, while the lettering will likely be white in colour, and perhaps slightly more difficult to see, it remains a fairly modern development player names are even displayed, the number is all that is needed.

the other requirement of space for competition badges`on the sleeves also hinders the aesthetics as adidas can no longer display their full stripes, adding to the lack of design cohesion, increasingly putting me off from modern shirts.

Could the player be bothered to pick some boots that don't clash so bad with the kit. Overall not a bad effort for Adidas but still not as good as Nike kits.

hey this pretty cool and differernt loving the mad 90's style squares and it's unique..... for now.

adidas kits seem to be well cut, unlike the tent style shirts puma provide for tottenham, they must think everyone has a fat beer belly even people who buy a small.

Hmmmmm, not good at all, I am curious as to what the design inspiration was behind the check pattern, it is odd indeed. I respect Adidas as a brand and they the second largest Sports Brand on the planet, but I really think their Chelsea Kits lack the charm of the Umbro era. I have been a Chelsea supporter for 28 years and remember fondly the Kerry Dixon Diamond Shirt, our great Emerald Green number from the late 80's and the brilliant Red and White Hoops worn in that great 4-3 victory against Man City when Kevin Wilson ran the lentgh of the pitch to score a cracker! Ok Umbro also designed some horrors - The Yellow and Pale Blue and the infamous Orange and Grey Away

Overall, Adidas have yet to deliver a classic, Umbro delivered several.

i like the previous design.the black one with the 3 orange stripes.it was simple yet elegant in my opinion.the new away kit lacks some cool color(s).fading blue blocks reminds me of the 70s or the 80s.the designers can think of a much better design.the home kit is average for me.the previous home kit was a bit better though.

adidas kits are getting more and more questionable, wouldn't mind a move for chelsea back to umbro, like the stuff they've been putting out lately a lot.

problem with the kits too is not so much that the design is terrible either, when you see and feel the kits in person they just feel so cheaply made, like parts and designs will come off in the wash.

Scotland can hardly call itself a Premier League, in all honesty it is only ever between Rangers and Celtic, the other 10 clubs just cause them inconvenience for 34 games a season, it will never change sadly.

Ceases to amaze.....Adidas' continued quest to make the most undesirable kits in the world. Adidas, give yourself a pat on the back.

Absolutely awful. Does not look like a football shirt, rather something you would collect from a charity store second hand. What is this awful obsession with black away kits? They look dull and dreary and Chelsea seem to have forgotten that their home shirt is blue. It used to be yellow in the 1970's a far removed change from blue and it worked.
This has to be one of the worst shirts for next season, with a club that changes managers more frequently than Prince Phillip changes underwear I hope they get a poor season which they deserve.
