colo colo 2011 umbro football shirts

Tailored by Umbro, and worn with pride by the most successful team in Chile’s history, these are the new home and away shirts for Colo Colo. The shirts, in the club’s traditional colours of white for home and black for away, will be worn by Los Albos throughout 2011.

The new football shirts, designed by Umbro, have been inspired by the club’s original jersey designs from the 1920s.

Following the Umbro Tailored philosophy, the shirts have a classic, simple look but are full of innovative design elements such as a special stretch fabric to aid movement. Along with a special mesh on the back of the shirts to aid breathability, it’ll ensure that players and fans can look good and feel great at the same time.

why is there that black bar over the badge?

The black bar is in honour of David Arellana, one of the founders of the club. He died shortly after a friendly match against Valadolid in 1927, during which he was hit (accidentally) by an opponent.

Good pickup Stewie - maybe Colo Colo went to the school of AFL change kits... here in Oz one of the Australian Rules Football teams did just that (Collingwood). They wear white stripes on black for home.... and black stripes on white for away. It's ludicrous.

QUESTION:

Anyone notice the Umbro running shoes they are wearing? Since when does Umbro make these products? Are they specifically designed for soccer training or are they just "presentation" shoes?

Where can we find out more about this?

Thanks!

Umbro is growing world wide in marketing. They used to be just in England, but now they are doing good. the kit looks good, socks are epic, sponsor kinda ruins it. but still great job by Umbro!

sponsor name 4 times on the kit, surely they could have squeezed it in a few more times?
