Coventry City's new 2011/12 kit has been revealed and as you may have already guessed, it has an all sky blue shirt, shorts and socks.
It also features a retro badge, which is in keeping with the historic style and is exactly the same as an original drawing taken from the programmes of the early 1960s. It will be used on the home kit next season but the current crest will remain on the away strip and will continue to be the club's official crest.
As a further tribute, Last Saturday's matchday programme has a retro front cover - again based on the early 1960s covers. A booklet with vouchers for the club shop will also be available with the programme.
Justin Tose, Coventry City's retail manager, said: "We are really pleased with the feedback we've had from everyone - it's been a very interesting process and there are so many people who have helped along the way.
"When you delve back into the rich history of this club you realise you don't have to reinvent the wheel. There was so much fantastic material to work with and we feel this is a great tribute and celebration of the fact that the club will have been wearing sky blue for 50 years in 2012."
Former manager and chairman Jimmy Hill first led the team in sky blue in the 1962/63 season and the Sky Blue Song was written during that campaign.
The kit is based on that strip that began the so-called Sky Blue Revolution, which ultimately saw Coventry City promoted to the top-flight for the first time in 1967.
The fact that the collar, cuff and sock detail have all been matched so closely to the original required a great deal of support from Puma and their UK agents, Genesis Sports, who have pulled out all the stops to create a truly bespoke kit for Coventry.
"They have been very supportive," said Tose. "The usual process for a kit is that Puma give us four or five off the peg designs to look at, we choose one and, after a bit of tinkering, we decide on a strip we like.
"Next season's kit, however, is totally unique and we've been really pleased with just how much help we've had from an international company such as Puma to get to this stage.
"City Link has also agreed to have its logo in white so it is in keeping with the rest of the kit. We couldn't have asked for more support."

Love it.
sorry to disappoint you but i do read the articles
Great kit though. Hope Genesis have been working equally hard with the new Wednesday home kit.
I'd like to find the marketing guys of City Link and bang their censoreding heads together. Idiots...
It should be made into a navy blue, so it doesn't clash with the sky blue, but it doesn't overpower it either.
Nice shirt though
Otherwise a beautiful kit.
Individual designs (or something close to) for each and every club should be the standard to which both shirt manufacturers and clubs respectively aspire towards.
I also misspelt 'apply'...oops!
look at the the Mönchengladbach-shirt of this year

Very nice kit, lovely trim of dark blue and white, and the cuffs to the long sleeve shirt look nice, look quite good quality as well.-the collar is nice as well!
My rating would be 10/10 for this!
PS Good luck this year to cov, hopefully you get in the prem this season, so we can have a decent lot of midlands clubs in the prem!-and that will sort out any financial worries!
The Sky Blues should definately keep the retro badge for future strips.
Because United wear Sky Blue don't they
You didn't understand my comment. Obviously it would be Red instead of Blue. This is the kit I was referring to, in case you've got no idea what I'm talking about.
