Derby County 2011/12 Adidas Home Kit

This is the new Derby County home kit for the 2011/12 English Championship season produced by Adidas.

The new kit, as modelled by Steve Davies, will be worn by the Rams for the forthcoming npower Championship season. On the new design, Derby County's Head of Retail Mandy Hollis explained: "We have worked hard with adidas to incorporate a design we believe fans will enjoy, and we're delighted with the end result.

"This year's design is a new take on a classic white shirt and we believe the two tone white hoops effect will be popular with fans."

buymobiles.net continue to be the main shirt sponsor. Having received feedback from the fans about last season's shirt, the Derbyshire-based mobile phone retailer have introduced a new way their logo is applied to the shirt, giving it a more natural feel.

Rams Player of the Season John Brayford says it feels great and looks great: "The shirt gets lighter and more comfortable every season.

"Adidas raise the bar each year and once again they've produced something that players will enjoy wearing, but also looks impressive.

"I think supporters will really like this new kit and hopefully we can be successful in it."

I'd prefer if there were no sponsors on shirts at all just like the old days with the manufacturer logo and club crest only.
But that'll never happen in this day and age.

It's simple, and effective. I don't see why teams attempt to make kits anything much more than this; it's got the club colours, the club badge, and the sponsor - no need for anything else. If that's all you need in a kit then why do certain kits go for that something extra? Fair play to Adidas for a modest design; a very retro kit, and if I was a Derby County fan, I'd be the over the moon with this.

Kit designers HAVE to experiment season to season, or nobody buys the new shirts and the club makes no money. Simple economics.
This kit is an experiment in minimalism, or back to basics, clearly.

I really like this, like the horizontal lines, really smart kit. I'm surprised more people aren't loving this. The keeper kit is pretty boring, I get the impression kit manufacturers can't be bothered with them anymore. Sort it out.

The keeper kit is the new template, however absolutely stunning I think. I am a goalkeeper and there was nothing worse than in Sunday league being forced to wear a horrible fluorescent or wildly designed strip. Adidas have came out with smart simple keeper kits lately, and this is perfect I think. However i expect most teams to have that, lime green and black this year

That's Steve Davies modelling the kit not Jon Brayford!!! As a Derby fan, I like it. A massive improvement on last season's home shirt. I would've preferred something with back sleeves to mix it up a bit though.

It's not bespoke at all. I saw the same shirt in orange/white in a football shop in Brisbane (Australia) today. It's teamwear downunder, that's for sure - it was hanging with the other adidas teamwear templates.

I agree with Cruyff14:
I was at the adidas store the other day here in Irvine, CA, and I saw the same shirt template in two colors: Black and "Argentina Blue".

Sorry Clint, but you're wrong.
Its the Adidas Tabela 11 template (one the cheapest of all the teamwear range) which is available in Europe this year but not in the UK yet.

clearly dave you are correct.
what is confusing them is you put tabela II not tabela 11.
two different templates.
though tbh nothing wrong with temlates, back in the day there were only about 5 different shirts at all, plain, stripes, halves, sleeves and hoops all repeated in different colours.

I have not been impressed at all with the Adidas kits Derby County have used over the past several years. I don't think they're ugly. They're quite simple, but not in a good way. More like bland and tasteless. I'd like to see Umbro put together a kit for this historic club.

Black and white are the traditional colours of dcfc. Brian clough changed us to wearing navy shorts with red numbers on our back to make us look like England in the 1970's - for whatever reason. That's my understanding anyway. The navy carried on into the 80's, until the late 80's / early 90's we reverted back to our black and white which has remained since.

History lesson over.

Nasty and cheap-looking. The neck label says it all really.

They may as well buy some plain adidas nylon shirts from Sports Direct for £2.50 a go, plonk some logos on it and sell it for £50. Result.
