Derby County 11-12 adidas away football shirt

Derby County revealed their new adidas away kit design for the forthcoming 2011/12 season.

The all-purple strip, as modelled by Jamie Ward, was unveiled to supporters for the very first time at the 'Biggest Team Photo' event for fans that had purchased the new home kit, which went on sale earlier this month.

Speaking about the away kit, Derby County's Head of Retail Mandy Hollis explained: "adidas presented us with various options, but the purple choice stood out from the beginning.

"Nigel Clough thought the colour was really striking and it would be one that fans would really like.

"We made the decision to use the same hoop design that is present in the home kit design to keep some consistency with both kits and I am confident the choice of purple will be a big hit with our supporters."

As with Derby's new-look home kit, which sold over 1,000 shirts in just two days when it went on sale two weeks ago, the away kit is manufactured by adidas and the design incorporates adidas CLIMALITE® technology based on soft, lightweight fabrics for superior moisture management.

Frontman Ward, who signed for Derby permanently from Sheffield United in the summer after an impressive loan spell at Pride Park last season, said: "I love the purple design and I know the lads do as well.

"It has been given a big thumbs-up from the dressing room.

"When the photoshoot took place for the away kit we were all saying how good it looked.

"The word quickly spread between us and all the lads were desperate to see it!

"The look and feel is fantastic. Little things like that are important to players and we are all certainly impressed with both of our kits for the season.

"I am sure the fans will feel the same too."

Shirt sponsors BuyMobiles.net have changed the colour of their logo to orange to fit with the purple design and Paul Sisson, Managing Director of BuyMobiles.net, said: "I love the colour of the new away kit, it's bright and fun.

"I can't wait to see the fans wearing it and the first team running out in it for the first time.

"We took the decision to adapt our logo and opted to use a striking orange that really works to compliment the purple colour of the kit."

The shirt will go on sale on Saturday 27th August 2011 in shopDCFC on a first-come first-served basis, with no pre-orders being taken prior to the on-sale date.

Shirts will cost £40 for adults and £30 for juniors. Shorts & socks will also available.

Its ok i guess, but i think this template looks better on the home colours. I was hoping a different template design for their away shirt again this season. But again it is ok :)

Not a fan of the colour and definately not a fan of the orange on the sponsors logo. Why didnt they go with white and the light blue that is on the home kit?

These look horrificly cheap and nasty. They look like those knock-off polyester fake shirts you see on a market stall.

Verydisappointing, why didn't Derby stick with Errea, or even Joma?!
