Dundee United today revealed the new home kit for the 2011/2012 season. This kit is the third in a four year kit supply deal with Just Sports Group (Ltd.) in conjunction with Nike.
The design, modelled by young stars Ryan Dow and Dale Hilson, features the unmistakable traditional tangerine with a black chevron that encases the Nike swoosh and Dundee United club crest. The chevron design is itself a return to the historical design utilised by Dundee United in its formative years.
The new design, which is sure to be a winner with Dundee United fans, underscores the continued sponsorship by Calor Gas and takes into account supporter suggestions of the Calor logo changing to the more prominent black colour.
Launched at midday today, the shirts are available from £33 for kids, £35 for youths and £40 for adult sizes.
Thanks to Calum, Paul and Leigh

Mexico's Home and away from five years ago, with the cool Aztec watermark and a different collar? Well, the V is narrower, but this looks like a boring piece of teamwear.
It´s censoreding werid how Nike is taking a normal teamsport template which sells for 10 GBP, putting just a badge and a sponsor on it and then selling it for 40 GBP. Poor Nike, such a shame!
The kits aren't supplied direct from Nike. Dundee United get their kits from Just Sports. It just so happens they use Nike Teamwear templates. Nike have nothing to do with this shirt really.
Netherland away 2010

I agree!
THIS IS a 2005 template
SHOCKING
Don't be so dramatic!
Man Utd 2009?
Maybe, Dundee is suffering from personality problem...
It's the best design we've had in years.
4 times to be exact,
Albeit 50 and 30 years ago!!
At least we are in Europe and top division in Scotland.
Where are you Dundee?
"Hey Guys drop everything, forget about designing the new United, barça, inter, brazil & France kits etc, weve gotta design a new Dundee Utd kit!"
and then expect them to work for hours giving them a unique tailored kit when they will only sell about 100 anyway?
Read the article, it says they use a 3rd party, of course they're gonna get teamwear which is always gonna be a season or 2 behind the big clubs
It's Shaktar Donetsk
King Warrior says 3 out of 10
Dundee Utd had a chevron way back in the 1910's
You cant beat Tangerine & Black, which United have wore for 40+ years.
Well actually if u know your history u will find out that Dundee United werent a team in the 1910's but there was the most famous club of the city Dundee FC and Dundee hibernian and Dundee united were not formed until 1924.
So get it right up u arab scumbag the dee rule!!!
I don't think it's Nike that dictate the price of the shirt: it's the club that take a teamwear shirt and iron-on a club badge and sponsor logo then charge £45+ for it.
I like the template, but the addition of a sponsor clutters the shirt up just like it did Man Utd
i dont hear anyone complain about adidas templates. adidas prints out a t-shirt with its iconic 3 lines and oh wow its the greatest shirt ever designed!!!!
Its a decent kit, and besides unique kits dont always mean good kits. Chelsea away?
Looks alright. Glad to see a sponsor change it's colours to make the kit look better.
Having decent kit brands making nice kits might help the SPL look more professional than run down.
It's a Team Sports deal, where the club select it from the same catalogue as teams outside the premiership and Sunday league pub teams.
Personally I think it looks pretty good, but you're kidding yourself if you think it was designed especially for Dundee United.
There's not many kits which haven't been done already so not sure what all the Gok Wans on this page are talking about.
I seem to remember Dundee United's early 80's kit being worn by Man Utd a season later.
I am just pleased that the calor logo has been sorted and that there's a bit more Black in the kit this season. The only change I would make would be to have the white stripe on the shorts tangerine.
I sound like a fecking woman! Jeeeez!! :-s
Nike does WHAT to lower teams?? Dundee Utd, Cyrystal Palace, Aberdeen, York City, Fleetwood etc all look at the cataogue and choose what design and colour they want.
What do you expect the headlines to be: "Nike the business in shock selling items scam!" !?
:palmtoyourface

Wtf are you on about, you CLEARLY put Nike DOES THIS to those catagory of teams. They don't. Muppet,. Teams are free to do and go with who they want. Nkike put a product out and that it's. Read what YOU put before sounding like a tart.
I don't know why smaller clubs go with the big companies like Nike and Adidas. They never get anything bespoke...just standard templates that everyone elese is wearing.
I like very much Dundee's club colors, but for God's sake Nike. Is it difficult to come with something new? Why not a all orange jersey with a big black stripe on the shoulders and sleeves. Not hard to do, and at least it would be at the same time classic and different.
Dundee Utd doesn't even get their kits from Nike, they get them from a 3rd party supplier.
Dumbass
As far as I can see, Dundee Utd kits are made by Nike, so I don't understand what do you mean. And as I said, I love the club orange and black colors, but the kit is a cheap copy of the one Nike made for Man Utd not long ago. Boring, complete lack of immagination.
About the 'Dumbass' reference, there's no need to sign the comments, once you're already identified on the top of them.
whoaaaaa...u guys gotta chill the censored out man. it was just MY opinion and this comment section is what its all about. there might be things that people will say and agree on then there are things that would be disagreed on. heck its just football shirts after all
Sorry pal, I thought it was you quoting me after responding to your initial message.
That person's response whom it was still didn't make sense mind ;)
If I was an Arab, I'd be happy with this kit, there is after all only so many available to them from Nike's range, and it is a quality wearing kit too. My only gripe would be that I could get the same shirt minus badge and sponsor for a 3rd of the price.
By the way, the minute you add a sponsor or a badge onto a kit, it becomes unique! Getting tired of reading the jizzstains that moan about teams having the same kit as each other, every kit in it's own tweak is unique.
Nike is not providing uniforms to the NBA...are a distant third and perhaps fourth in football, are out of NHL hockey due to Reebok...guess they don't care about professional team sports or advertising anymore.
It is a great kit have you seen it in person? It does the job.
By the way, Nike are supplying the NFL from 2012, so I think they do "care" about professional team sports and advertising.
Below is the statement issued by the club in 2009. It clearly states Dundee United sign deal with Nike not as some censoredwits keep incorrectly repeating a 3rd party teamwear supplier bollocks. Also our colours are censoreding TANGERINE!!! not bloody orange. The least Nike could do is order up some tangerine material for us the lazy censoreds!
Dundee United announced that Nike will be the official kit supplier to the Club for the next four years, commencing 1 June 2009.
The four year deal also includes selling Nike merchandise through the Club Shop which will now be operated by Nike UK's professional football club service provider Just Sport Pro Club.
Dundee United Chairman Stephen Thompson said, "We are delighted to secure this four year deal with such a world famous and quality brand as Nike.
This exciting new partnership will see Nike supply all of our playing and training kit and a complete range of Nike products in the Club Shop, Dundee United Direct. The Nike brand is instantly recognisable world-wide and represents quality, in respect of both the product and the teams associated with it.
We are therefore highly delighted to team up with such a prestigious brand, particularly going into our centenary season."
The top is very well made with stitched adidas stripes on the sleeves and stitched adidas logo it also has the old stylised d.u.f.c. lettering and 1979 league cup champions stitched on it.
I don't like buying outwith the club as they obviously receive no money for this but it's the only way to buy a really good looking, well made top. I would happily have paid United £40 for this.
The clubs are as much to blame here as Nike etc.
Any opinions or just more boring shite about Man. Utd. template
