Umbro revealed the new England 11/13 Home football kit, which is available on pre-order Here.
Designer Peter Saville designed the new England kit, read all about it in an interview with the Manchester born Designer , or watch the Umbro Video with Peter Saville at our new blog ViralFootball.com
The shirt, like the previous England home and the current England away, is inspired by English tailoring heritage, but with the latest in innovative, technical design. Constructed from two distinct cotton-based fabrics, the shirt is thicker for protection on the front and back, and more flexible in the under-arm, increasing movement.
The neckline is perhaps the most eye-catching aspect of the new kit, with a square collar accompanied by a longer, more open neckline which increases the amount of movement in the garment across the chest. This is particularly important for players when they’re running and changing direction quickly on the pitch.
With the New Fabric Of England graphic on the shoulder and a blue Umbro logo on the chest, the new home shirt certainly adds colour to the England palette. This continues with the shorts, which are royal blue, and the socks, which are white with a royal blue trim. Both are developed into an ergonomic shape that again provides a fantastic fit for the players and aids their on-pitch movement.
Goalkeepers always stand out on the pitch, but in terms of the new England goalkeeper kit, it’s built using exactly the same framework as the outfield kit to emphasise team uniformity. In black with purple piping which was added to give the look of a formal shirt, the goalkeeper shirt features the New Fabric Of England motif in a subtle tonal black throughout the shirt. With shorts and socks also in black, goalkeepers such as Joe Hart will look be looking sharp on the pitch, whilst having the freedom to let their football do the talking.

its just lovely
anyway anything is better than white.
Quoting snakeagent:
exactly my point. its not a ugly kit its ok but i think this tailor in england theme has gotten to their heads a bit. i do like the st. george diversity cross thing goinng on but i dont like the square thing on the chest. yes to the open v neck collar but no t the rectangle
'The crosses are discreet but also very edgy' - They're laughing at us, people...
Seedy Loner your WRONG but only on the count of it costing £45 I reckon it would be closer to £50 then there is the shirt printing.....
Lovely kit I think and the blue shorts really set if off, a lovely idea on the shoulders too.
Aitor x
Aren't you a bit annoyed that your shirt was cut short?
your one was definitely worth a full term if not two.
It's gone as England don't deserve it
Cheers!

Part of the Manchester music legend.
There is nothing edgey about it, it will justlook like someone has drawn on your top
Is it only me or they could have been a bit bolder in the creative department?
The most annoying thing about modern kit design is designers who don't know when to stop - it's a trend seen widely in a lot of casual mens wear. They make a perfectly good product and then add a load of meaningless rubbish.
I shall be sticking with the current home shirt.
Hope the shorts are more navy than royal blue.
Why do they use blue?
Its in the union Jack....
The blue part of the union jack is solely to represent SCOTLAND.
Oh, i forgot that the English actually beleive that the U.J is just another English flag. Im doubtful that most of the english even know of Scotland, Wales and N.I.
Its all just england england england. all the time.
Stop using Scottish colours.
And the shorts are too bright at least in those photos.
I generally prefer simple shirts but given their last one, would it not be too much to expect a little bit of colour to break up the shirt? A bit of blue/red on the collar/cuffs? I know the back has some but its hardly noticeable
Bringing it out before Christmas is sound business strategy from Umbro but I wouldnt be happy as a consumer seeing a new shirt 18 months after the last. They did that a few times with Ireland so I refused to buy them. Still, Ive seen alot worse...
I'm not too sure how this one's going to translate into sales, I think it will polarise most people.
Seriously whats with the weired, multi-colored crosses on the back, we are the laughing stock of every other nation!
Umbro is owned by Nike, as is everything with the FA and the English team, its all about tradition
tradition of not winning a world cup. hehehehe at least you got umbro/nike. best of both worlds
LOL I don't.....Adidas and Nike have some of the worst kits recently...Whereas Umbro have nice smart looking kits.
Nah, over all umbro makes some great kits. NIke and adidas have put out some real duffers recently, and even when they do make good ones then everybody else has the same exact design anyway - that's boring.
Puma makes okay shirts, but i'm happy to stick with umbro, even if this one isn't 100% great.
Are you a Communist?
Although the blue shorts are a nice touch.
I dont like the colorfull flags on the back and shoulders though...
What was Umbro thinking wen they created this embarrasing shirt?
What are these coloured St. George's crosses doing there? England's diversity? Oh my, please! And this deep collar down the chest?
They got the previous home kit and sorted out a way to ruin it in order to shame the proud and glory of the English Team.
Mind you, I wouldn't see Brazil, or Argentina, or Germany altering their cherished National shirts for the sake of multiculturism.
Why? The Daily Mail might like you to believe that, but it's not true. Everyone in this country, whatever their heritage, knows the national flag is a St George cross - red on white. Anything else and it is not a St George cross and thus has no relevance to the nation. No cultures in this country think that a pink cross or a blue cross represents them. Just because some far-right groups use the flag doesn't mean it should ruin it for the rest of us. The fact that the shirt is worn by people of all racial backgrounds on the pitch does all the talking we need to do about how diverse and tollerant we are as a nation.
The idea is really corny outdated, like something that would have been thought up in the 70s or 80s - which is pretty much when Saville's designs stopped being exciting and culturally relevant. If they'd have just said "We included multi-coloured flags because Mr. Saville just likes multi coloured things", then fair enough - his work for Manchester city council is testament to that theory.
In short, there are lots of things not right about this shirt - the premature timing, the multi-coloured crosses, the ridiculous collar design and the cut (abandonning the perfection of tailoring of the last kit for no reason but change for change sake). The tabloids will have a field day with it - the incompetant FA really bring this stuff upon themselves, don't they?

Might as well not bother wasting the stitching. You can't even see it!
thinking
That said, the collar is bizarre and the multicultural idea comes across as a desperate plea from The FA to secure WC2018.
Umbro have no idea what style means.
We have an Italian manager so lets have an Italian designer.
Everyone knows they are the most stylish nation in the world.
Someone should have told Puma.
this is not a fashion contest
what`s next, transparency? players showing their shoulders?
this guy hasn't ever buy a football shirt but have the oportunity of design one of the most important kits in the world?
Also, Peter Saville is a great graphic designer, but not a clothes designer, and it shows with the crosses on the shoulders, would look nice on a LP but not on an England shirt, think the Umbro guys have been shopping in Oi Polloi in Manchester too much with their love of this whole tailored bullshit.
And why Wiltshire, Walcott, Johnson, Hart and aload of unknowns, is this some attempt at fooling the public that England have some kind of bright future?
I got used to the current home kit and quite like it now, but this is just too much for me to like. I miss the days when England kits were modern, not with a big pointless line down the middle and multi coloured flags on the back.
Why keep looking back in time for idea's and designs, look to the future and make a new design that isnt inspired by previous shirts from the 80's.
Whats with the multi coloured "diverse" flags ? It just looks stupid.
I think fans should be given an voice on new Englands kits since we are the one's paying £50.00 for them.
So this time Umbro and Peter Saville can stick their shirt up their arses, cause im not paying for that heap of shite that i could do a better job designing.
I'll stick with my 06/08 Home Shirt and Euro 2004 Away shirt, thank you.
Either that or he's got psychedelic dandruff.
Are they mad? Are we that stupid?
Shame we don't have the product fit to go in the shirts.
The FA and Umbro are taking the piss!
You both seem like people that have faces even your mother couldn't love.
Maybe if you had more work to do rather than blogging the internet would be a more intelligent place.
Shirt is ok, stars look g*y!
Quick synopsis
This coming from a "Utd Fan" and the crap that Nike are currently serving up!!
I take it your still bitter that Utd never won the title last season....
ok lets face it chelsea have recently released kit that are an aquired taste i don't mind the home like the away but despise the third with all my heart and i'm a man utd fan it shouldn't even come into an arguement which team you support so just drop it for the sake of the english
Why have England's kits (and team, for that matter) been so, so, SO uninspiring just lately?
For this shameless cash-in, those "Three Lions" should be changed to "Three Blooded Tampons" to reflect one of England's worst periods. Maybe then I'd buy one for the irony!
Or possibly red shorts
The blue shorts looks great with the blue Umbro logo and the blue in the England crest, and the little crosses across the back and shoulders are a subtle but beautiful accent. I like the unique elongated collar too. Fantastic work from Umbro.
Go ahead and tear into my comment now.
Why do they continue the condescending practice of getting players from teams other than the senior men to take part in the launch.
sorry for my last comment before, looking at it for a while makes you relize its a good kit.
The only concern is this shirt only going to be worn for the qualifiers and a new shirt out for 2012 ?.
Anyway, Umbro has just butchered a great design in order to pocket some more coin; these bastards are using us in the name of patriotism while giving away raw sewage.
F*ck these turds! England plays in navy shorts and red numbers. These c*cksuckers don't know crap about football. England till I die! We'll be back.
In all likelihood it was supposed to be 11-13 - England have been in a settled pattern for some time now of new home kit in spring of an odd-numbered year and new away in spring of even-numbered - but the FA seemingly want to distance themselves from the unsatisfactory World Cup and have rushed it out. You'll notice there was no big build-up to this release, which is extremely unusual for an England shirt...
I think it´s a stylish kit and you can wear it everywhere.
The lousier it´son the pitch the more often they are releasing shirts and gear....
FOOTBALL is the game. Not cashing in on supporters or making a big fuss about NOTHING
How much exactly has this idiot been paid to come up with this crap???
The tiny multi-coloured crosses are the sort of thing you see on a baby grow. I for one will not be spending my hard earned cash on this shite!...
wrong spelling!!!
"Lots of jealous people on her"... and I wonder, who is "her". She must be hot to generate such a following. Anyway, you're a massive 2@, just like this Saville guy and his fagotty little crosses.
We're much more than this puke of a shirt. 3 lions forever.
Peter Saville : "It represents England today...a more diverse place than ever before..."
Translation : "I wanted to spread some pixie dust on the shirt and if I have to invent some marketing bullsh:t in order to convince an incompetent and out of touch F.A., then so be it!"
It's fine to play around with different colours of the St. George's cross in fashion but it's pointless and feckless to implement it on an England shirt.
Recently, Umbro made another gaff by introducing a new crest - featuring a dragon - on the Norway shirt, replacing the Norwegian flag. Norwegians are very proud of their flag and many fans vehemently protested against the new crest. Umbro were forced to remove the new crest and bring back the Norwegian flag : Norway 1 Umbro 0.
Umbro clearly hasn't learned its lesson.
The Norwegian FA unveiled the new crest, suffered a public backlash and promptly dropped it.
To suggest that Umbro designed their crest is pretty feckin silly tbh.
Although i think the kit may be a 10/11 kit and not an 11/13 kit. So it doesnt look like we will have it long
when was the last kit released??? was it not just at the start of the year??? i think its a rip off bringing out another kit so soon for any national team, they should be ashamed
now tell me which is better:adidas or umbro(subsidary of nike) ????????????????????????????????????????????
However, what bugged me the most was the blue names and numbers on the reverse of the shirt. They should have been red if they really wanted to nod to history ans heritage. This is the most un-England colour scheme since the 96 kit that had the sort of aqua green trim on it.
The all white kit was a perfectly good design which could have lasted another six months at least and now we have this tosh?
Shirt looks like underwear, the shorts/socks are the wrong colour and as for the hundreds and thousands on the shoulder - seriously what the feck?
Er...no they don't! The White, Blue and Red of England kits actually represent the colours of the badge of the Football Association NOT the Union Flag|!!!
you f###in retard
Those small crosses look ridiculous.
onedge

The annoying thing is, the desinger will recieve a small fortune for this design, and all he has done is strip it down to aplain shirt n added miniature flags on the back?
EPIC FAIL !!!!
Funny that when someone puts this shirt on they instantly look like trouble...
joe heart has to wear black with bright pink bits
not to mention the censoredin different colored st gorges on the back at the top
we r gona be a bigger laphin stock then we were befor
it makes me want to be sick
