....as a polo travel shirt....BUT HOME SHIRT?????
THIS IS THE FAAAAAAAMOUS FIRST NIKE-FRANCE KIT?
The FFF had a partnership with adidas rich in history and tradition. adidas was smart in not offering the crazy money nike is throwing around buying people's support. People buy adidas - they aren't bought by adidas.
I look forward to when France wises up and ditches the mercenaries.
I admire the "getting back to basics" attempt, but mostly it seems like Nike figured, well, it's not like they'll win anything ever again, so why bust our own balls trying to design something unique?"
That's what the FFF gets for selling out to Nike. Even their worst Adidas design was better than this.
I agree with, this is not France for me. And as if the shirt wasn't dark enough, they gave it a collar nearly black... And it lacks a bit of red for me
haters gonna hate
but lazy...
Man, not ugly shirt, but not like a football shirt, looks more like a polo shirt or golf shirt
U idiot Nike owns umbro and frankly they also own Adidas with these kits. Adidas can't pull off classy with their gay three stripes every frigging time

Why dont they just keep the one they have for now cause its awesome. Every team changes them every year, no wonder they suck. maybe they should keep their kit for at least 2-3 years and then come up with something. at least then you have more time to come up with something better than this.
WQuoting james:
What I want to say is in our flag there is no dark blue a "blue sky"....
2nd it is not the color it should be! France should have a blue like on the tricolour.
Je ne suis pas satisfait du tout.
what the bad shirt
Look at photos of football shirts from the 1800s up until the 1970s and this was a very common, very "football" type of shirt. Apparently people nowadays would rather their shirts were full of unnecessary asymmetric trim, contrast stripes etc.
Nike have done a good job of this shirt, stripped off all of the overblown branding that the Adidas shirts had in recent years and gone back to basics. Perhaps the only criticism is that it's a bit too dark, but that may just be due to the photography. Besides, hater's need not worry as it'll probably only be worn for a year anyway.

No matter the exact color, I really love it, I was disappointed since many years by what Adidas gave us. This Nike's first try looks better than all of them. I'm empressed to see the full kit which will be very nice, I hope. For information, short will be entirely white & socks will be majorly red with blue on the top...
thanks for the link!
Adidas was way better, even if I didn´t liked them really.
if nike doesnt make a similiar kit for another nation or club ill have to buy the france kit even though i cant stand their national team
Are you 4 years old by any chance?
But then I remembered that Adidas designs are whack and Nike designs are dope.
I've never warmed to this FFF badge though, they should bring back the previous one, which I associate with so much success.
the blue shorts and white or gray, perhaps?
Red socks, dark red, white?
Colors respect the flags .... Soon France will play in black ...
Black is no color that is true, but no more dark blue.
simple and ugly.
The power of marketing at it's best.

So, i find nothing chocking in the dark blue shirt ...

It takes some getting used to for me, after more than 20 years associating Les Bleus with adidas (their partnership, of course, more ancient).
The dark blue is preferred. Last year, Adidas opted for the same, darker tone. It would've looked great if they didn't add the overused red stripes which were that time broken as if done intentionally to sabotage the spirit. And indeed, last World Cup's theme for France was « sabotage ».
The collar is a bit weird, as if too short. The designer said it can be raised to add personality but a lot of the marketing emphasis of Nike is towards showing off, and I prefer to keep things sober and productive. The Mao-styled collar rumored on that exact template, combined with totally white shorts (no stripe on the side), and totally red socks (no blue) would've been nice.
For comparison, here is what Nike did for Le XV de France:

∴ Overall, the faux-rétro look is ok.
So, are the workers producing it working under fair treatment? Can we meet them?
