Hibernian FC 11/12 Puma Home Kit

This is the new Hibernian FC home kit for the 2011/2012 Scottish Premier League season manufactured by Puma.

The shirt features a retro round neck, the new kit features a 'doon the slope' motif, unique to the club in recognition of Easter Road's famous sloping pitch of yesteryear.

Design elements and the Hibernian bottle green from past kits have been referenced into a bold modern interpretation of a Hibernian home kit.

Hibernian Captain and Player's Player of the Year 2011 Paul Hanlon said: "I really like the look and feel of the new home strip - it has really grown on me. Speaking as a supporter of the club, I think the latest home shirt is a bit different, but you can also immediately tell it is a Hibernian strip. It's really smart and hopefully the fans will feel the same way. I look forward to wearing it next season at Easter Road."

You mean the team that don't exist any more? Ever thought Hibs were around before them and don't need to take inspiration from such a team. And the fact Puma got lazy using this template again?

I know Hibs have white sleeves but this shirt would be better without them or the diagnal segment at the top. The two together just don't work in my opinion.

Do they think we're daft? The "doon the slope motif, unique to the Club" is it not the same template already used by Spurs and others?
Also, the top pic (not the close up) has Puma logos on the sleeves, but the second one doesn't. What's that all about?

I like it. It reminds me of the time I was official hairdresser to the Scotland World Cup Squad I 1978. Ally McLeod used to say to me "Gladstone, will you sort out that doughnut, Gordon McQueen, he looks like Diana Dors with that huge bouffant and big rubbery lips". Smashing bloke Gordon, raving transvestite though.

Gladstone. My hair was a statement. It said "Hey big fella, If you want to score a goal against my team, you got to get past me and my bouffant hair". No-one messed with me and my hair, not even Bobby Charlton or his brother, Jimmy Saville gave me a problem when my hair was at its biggest.

Hibs had solid green sleeves prior to adopting white sleeves in the late 30's, so traditionally they wore the darker green without white sleeves. But, I don't think they can change from green and white sleeves now. There is only so much teams can do with traditions, green and white hoops, maroon tops, royal blue and so on. Ifthey don't make changes, it,s boring, if they make changes it breaks traditions.

50/50, teams and strip designers cant,t win.

Me, personally, I don't like this top. Not keen on the darker green bit and also the slope which allegedley is iconic to Hibs seeing as they had a famous slope on there pitch up to a few years back. Not keen on the sponsor, might have been better if it was only in the white writing.

It looks cheap.
