ifk goteborg 2011 adidas football shirts

This is the new IFK Göteborg 2011 away football shirt made by Adidas. The main sponsor ICA—a grocery store chain—has figured on the jersey front since 1982, and has almost become part of the jersey.

The crest of IFK Göteborg has its origins in the coat of arms of the city of Gothenburg which in turn is based on several other heraldic arms. The lion on a field of silver and blue is the heraldic arms of the Folkungaätt, holding the Three Crowns of Sweden, both symbols being used in the Coat of arms of Sweden.

This arm was granted to the city by Gustavus Adolphus. The coat-of-arms of Gothenburg sees the lion facing the sinister (heraldic right) side which often is interpreted as a fleeing lion, the normal being a lion facing the dexter (left) side, but IFK chose to have the lion facing dexter on the club crest. Adding the three letters IFK on top and the crest used since it first appeared on the kit in 1919 is complete.

Great design, horrible colour and stupidly oversized sponsor. Pink NEVER works on football kits - unless your team is Juventus or Palermo.

So basically pink doesn't work unless you're a team that wears pink?

No!

What I meant was that a pink jersey never works unless you are a team that has pink as part of the club's history. Juventus wore pink shirts with black tie when they were formed, they only wear the stripes now because of Notts County. Palermo have always worn pink as far as I know.

Any teams "jumping on the bandwagon" and bringing out a pink shirt just look stupid. Unless its for a certain cause like when Everton brought out a pink shirt for a cancer charity.

Why haven't they released the new kits that came out on this sight? Chivas USA came out with their Corona jerseys, Argentina has their new home and away jerseys, Chicago without Best Buy on the front, & ....... why haven't they done so? I woud like to know what people think about them!

Kind of too similar to the new Colorado Rapids Jersey. Besides the collar, the exact same template. i thought the pionted thing on the back was unique to colorado ... the Rocky Mountains

Would have thought if it were the mountains then it would have been pointing up, not down?

These are very homocensoredual. Only Italians can get away with wearing pink and that is because Juve and Palermo have a HISTORY of wearing pink. Not just wearing it to look cool.

SAME IDEA THAN PUMA KITS OF THIS SEASON

AND ALSO TOO SIMPLE. LAST SEASON THOSE GREECE TEMPLATES WAS SO censoredED UP , BUT THIS IS A TOTALLY DIFFERENT LEVEL

I`M DESAPOINTED , ADIDAS WITHOUT NEW IDEAS AND MAKING SOMETHING THAT´S NOT NEW AT ALL

Pink was always a colour for young men until the First World War. Red was considered a strong, masculine colour and pink, being a lighter shade of red, was for boys (children).

Innocence is a connotation of the colour blue, (the Virgin Mary normally wore blue in paintings etc), so this was seen to be a girls' colour.

It only changed around WWI, when the uniforms were blue, and that become a seen as a masculine colour and pink was then premoted as a feminine colour with the "Think Pink" campaign.

So... Pink was a boys' colour long before it was for girls (or gays, as the less intelligent people on this forum would like to think).

Awesome kit, awesome colour.

That is all.

Looks like those awful Nike keeper kits from a couple of years back. I don't like all the unnecessary non-contrast trim (such as the "bow" on the lower back), but to be honest, I don't mind the colour at all.

If you're going to be pedantic, "england r best in world fact", then I'll correct your comment :
1) You typed "theirs" when you should have typed "there's".
2) The English spelling is not "gothenborg" but "Gothenburg".

Hmm ok, let us begin then if you wish to go into battle. Firstly my name is spelt Jarkko.

Secondly, I am from Eastern Europe and I have a better grasp of your language than you do.

I would love you to explain how I am the bigot, or indeed, if you understand the word. You are very insular in nature and seem to have the blinkers on and not willing to accept that there are nations better than England (5 according to FIFA). I must say I have no issues with your compatriots and mean no offence to them by what I say, because I value their input and not yours.

If English football is so good then why does your national team constantly fail in major competitions? Why do players like Ronaldo feel they have to leave for Spain, and why do players move to England or flit around clubs there? Well they move there for money. End of story. Big players leave because they realise that Spain can offer them more in Ronaldo's case. Stop holding on to 1966 and actually achieve something, then I will listen to you.

You also do not make 'fair comments' You believe that Spartak Moscow is in Bulgaria and has Egyptian script as their sponsor, and that the colour pink is 'gay'. I would hazard that you may need to consult a map, I will send you one if you like.

Not everybody panders to your nation, to most of my countrymen it is people like you who give England a bad name, you are probably still at school (to which I plead you pay attention more in class) and not more than 18. I also believe that you will grow up to glorify acts like the trouble caused by some ignorant English fans in Euro 2000 and believe that such lowly people that dare to come from countries far away should look upon you as some form of Master Race.

Finally, I enjoy English football, however I would prefer to sit and watch Barcelona, Valencia or Inter Milan than certain teams from your country. I am jealous of nothing, I am happy and I know when somebody is out of their depth, like you in this case.

n secondly my litle eastern european friend i dont care wither ur from serbia or croata or checkoslovakia bottom line is ur country could nvr b as gd as england! sorry thats the truth!

So you honestly think you'd have won the World Cup? I doubt it, you say you had momentum but drawing with Algeria and the USA is hardly building momentum then scraping past Slovenia to get through hardly sparks inspiration. You were abject against a very good German team, who, apart from a 20 minute spell after you scored, dominated the game and you. Don't start banging on about cheating when there have been enough examples of your team doing that through time. Being unsighted is not an act of cheating.

I never said that Slovenia etc were as good as England, however it is one thing having a strong team on paper and another having one that performs to a good standard when it reaches tournaments, which, sadly, your nation does not.

Regards to gelling your team, you were out in South Africa a long time before the tournament began and they have played together for a whole qualifying campaign, if they haven't gelled by then then they never will.

What? Thanks to the unfair way the TV money is handed out in Spain, the competition there is terrible, doomed to be a perpetual two-horse race between Barca and Real.

The Spanish league is a joke - the Iberian equivalent of the SPL.

Regardless of TV money it will be dominated by FCB and Real. Huge debts yet they keep functioning, you make a valid point. However, how is it fair for say, an average team in Man City to suddenly have wealth? Where is fairness to teams like Stoke, Bolton etc? The Portuguese league is as bad as BBVA and SPL, Benfica or Porto every year.
