The LA Galaxy unveiled their new Adidas 2011 third kit on Friday night at the club’s Fourth of July Weekend Kick-Off Party on the Target Terrace at L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles.
Building off the Galaxy’s traditional white, navy and collegiate gold jersey, the club’s third jersey, which was designed by adidas, highlights the fashion and style of the Southland with a very deep dark blue color called Punjab and Light Old Gold.
“We looked at several options for our third jersey and in the end we all ended up agreeing on the same final design and color scheme. We were especially proud to see the color gold, which has been a constant throughout our club’s history, is so prominent in this new jersey,” Galaxy President Tom Payne said. “To debut the new third jersey at our annual Fourth of July game will make an already special day even more memorable for our players as well as our fans.”
Since re-branding in 2007, all Galaxy jerseys have featured the LA Galaxy “Quasar” crest as a woven badge on the jersey with two embroidered stars representing their two MLS Cup championships, accompanied by the adidas three stripes down the sleeves. These basic design elements remain featured in the third jersey as well.

The third jersey features adidas FORMOTION technology, which moves naturally with an athlete’s body resulting in an ideal fit and comfort, as well as adidas CLIMACOOL, which combines a moisture wicking fabric and mesh construction in the player’s heat zones to improve body ventilation and keep them cool.
“To create the LA Galaxy’s third kit, we embraced two of the most iconic elements of Los Angeles – L.A. fashion and Hollywood style,” said Ernesto Bruce, MLS Category Manager for adidas. “The sleek dark Punjab highlights Los Angeles style and fashion and the Light Old Gold gives the jersey a historic feel. The LA Galaxy’s July 4 match versus the Sounders is the perfect time to debut this new kit.”
The Galaxy will debut their new uniforms on Monday night when they face their Western Conference rival, Seattle Sounders FC, at The Home Depot Center. Following the game, the club will host one of the largest fireworks shows, powered by 102.7 KIIS FM, in Southern California. At the game, the Galaxy Foundation will conduct a special Jersey-Off-the-Back auction, giving fans the opportunity to purchase the actual jersey worn on the field that night by their favorite Galaxy stars.

And Chelsea...
Although the MLS as improved greatly over the years with the additions of certain players from Europe, these so called smaller teams from your point of view would most likely win the MLS,harsh but true.
Regarding the MLS there are 2 players that use to play for Stoke City rivals Port Vale they are Chris Birchall and Luke Rodgers, both are English league 2 standard players but they are playing in the MLS ?
Anyway regarding the kit the colours they go well but the overall template seems to look like your every season same old Adidas style.
you don't need that much evidence to prove that Stoke and WBA play way better than MLS teams, it's obvious
Most players from Europe go to America on a financial basis. Realise, most European players that come over are old. And want to play in a small League, but with amazing pay. If someone like MK Dons, Southampton, Brighton or Leicester, all with good stadiums and very ambitious clubs had a fat wallet, and warm weather and invited these players, almost a guarentee they'd come here. The MLS is a money League, and a chance for players to feel big again
I'm from the US. Has anyone seen MLS teams play, even with these "designated players"? Looks like a bunch of 15 year old kids running around with their heads chopped off.
There's no way. The level of football in the MLS is equivlent to the championship AT BEST. And at that it is probably bottom of the table Champ - League 1.
looks like the team...a piece of S|-| | T
Since when are WBA and Stoke smaller than MLS teams? It is a disgrace that LA Galaxy get a kit designed by adidas and Stoke, WBA, Aberdeen, and Derby are given teamwear templates. LA Galaxy are a tiny club with a tiny support which mainly consists of rich idiots who dont even know anything about football
Actually, their support base is primarily blue collar hispanics, who know a hell of a lot about football since it was the only sport they had in Mexico.
Yes...... because they own a soccer club.
but is it the home or away?
'does this shirt make me look fat?'
decent stuff with the kit though(Y)
Excuse me if I am wrong...Galaxy wore amber and green (with green sash) until Beckham arrived then they mysteriously turned into all white.
What about football?
Seriously though, we all know that the only kits sold for this team will have "beckham 23" on the back.
Anybody ever watched rugby...
talk about arrogance, your comments are completely insane, anyone with a basic understanding of the sport would agree. And I'm American, btw.
nice looking kit, but adidas is using the black/dark color and gold a lot lately. Mexico, Real, etc.
AMERICAN. What the hell have I done to you to make you go beserk over me? You're the arrogant one, just like anyone who calls themselves Joe Cool
"HENRY,MARQUEZ,LINPERE,TAINIO"-quoting masenjrb
THREE of those names are European players.
MLS is improving but its a huge stretch to say any MLS teams come close to any Prem. teams, even championship teams for that matter. Look at the player salaries, that tells it all. Players are professionals, they go were the money is.
not sure who you are oxfordunited, I was responding to MASE NJRB.
"the arrogance is killing me"-MASE NJRB.
Its arrogant to compare a league thats 17 years old to the best league in the world. That was my basic point.
no body's going beserk, oxford. just a discussion.
But seriously Adidas needs to come up with some new shit. Especially with the MLS teams, since they are under contract until 2018. Adidas, mix it up please, every kit you guys put out looks exactly alike, just in different colors. Shit is old.
Oh dudes it would so kick ass if the MLS had a traditional season and said censored it to the salary cap and then during the summer the MLS could organize a league between England teams.
