liverpool 11-12 adidas third football shirt

This is the new Liverpool 11/12 third football kit made by Adidas, which will be available here.

Liverpool have turned the clock back almost 120 years for the inspiration behind their brand new third kit for the 2011-12 Barclays Premier League campaign.

The third choice strip for the new season is white, cyan and black in colour, with the inclusion of cyan blue a throwback to Liverpool's first ever home kit back in 1892 which incorporated alternate white and blue halves.

With the design inspiration taken from the classic tracksuit tops worn by the famous Liverpool teams of the mid 1980s, this brand new kit presents a modern look whilst giving a nostalgic nod to the club's illustrious past.

This new kit is officially launched on Thursday July 14, but you can pre-order today for worldwide launch day delivery.

Man, your parents must be really ashamed of you.

Anyway, I hate Liverpool, but I've rarely been let down by the kits Adidas produces for the club.

Curious to see what Warrior does when it's their turn.

I don't think you know about great kits do you? Liverpool has one of the greatest kits every season they have at least one that looks nice. And this season seems like all three are looking niice. Shame on you, I think you are like those fool who like the new Hotspurs kit. The plan white ones.....Your one of those lazy, not created type huh?.....I see.

Get over yourself you bitter little man, the only way your club survives is by selling your top players before they hit 20. I dont particularly like Liverpool but I can acknowledge them for what success they have had. Unlike your lot. Grow up.

To CD and canuckian - Liverpool will wear this white 3rd shirt against Sunderland (who wear red and WHITE stripes) rather than their charcoal (so I'm told) away kit?

And why exactly would Liverpool wear ANY away kit against Man City?

Great design but adidas have censoreded up BIG time with the trim colour. The blue shade was part of Liverpool's first kit in 1892!!! A LOT has happened since then. Nice sentiment but just oh so wrong.

That's like producing a Celtic away kit in blue.

A Barcelona away kit in all-white.

A Watford kit in white and orange.

You get the jist of it...

I like it. But I hate the way adidas (Umbro did it for a while, too) put monochrome (alright this one's got a little red in it) club crests on away shirts. It looks cheap and suggests to me that manufacturers and clubs put little effort in to away and 3rd kits regarding them as just another way to extract cash from supporters.

Yeah, but City and United don't wear these colours in quite the same shades or patterns as their rivals and the same might be said for white Arsenal kits. Some club's supporters just won't accept it though. I seem to remember Barcelona supporters being quite upset by a Kappa home strip that they had because it had a very small amount of white trim.

The colour really isn't too much of an issue here. Firstly, it's a distinctly different shade of blue to Everton's. Secondly, as mentioned before, many teams use the colours of their rivals - look at Man City's latest away shirt (and, if you look back through the years, City have often used red and United blue in away shirts). If it was a really obvious thing (for example Ipswich getting a new yellow and green away shirt!) then perhaps there would be a backlash, however I think the majority of Liverpool fans (myself included) will see this as a neat addition to our kits.

I also quite like the way adidas change the club crest for away shirts, and the sponsor fits in far better than Carlsberg would have (guarantee it would have been green). The only off thing is the shorts, why not a blue trim at the bottom like the shirt sleeves?

Actually, Everton have worn a very similar shade to this, for their home kit, and have worn a similar shade on a few away kits.
http://historicalkits.co.uk/Everton/Everton.htm

Yep, thats light bue right there.
This kit will be forgotten soon enough. Adidas could have, for the last liverpool kit, made a stunning yellow number with red pinstripes, but they came out with this abomination.

It's hardly the traditional Everton blue though, is it? They've had a similar colour 3 times in their history. They've had more shirts with red (or at least a pink hue) on them than light blue. Point being, people associate Everton with a royal blue, whereas this is clearly more towards a cyan or sky blue colour. All this fuss reminds me of when Spurs fans got upset that the Thompson logo on their old kits was red...

And people associate Liverpool with red, and Everton with blue, and the Toffees have had a similar colour more times in their history.

And comparing this to spurs is a different kettle of fish, as it was just the sponsor. This has the colour blue all over it. Out of all the choices of colours, Liverpool chose this. And the minority will see this as a smart addition to the kits, the majority will see it as an aberration of the highest order. The blue is not too much of an issue, it is the ONLY issue.

and I find it amazing, that for the first time, nobody has discussed the over fussy crest on the shirt. Mind you, this is the only liverpool kit in the last five seasons that would not be improved with the addition of the liver bird in place of the over fussy current crest.

What the hell were adidas thinking?

Well, that's your opinion, and I know other people feel the same way. However I also know plenty of Liverpool fans who are fine with it, and the comment about how it is a different shade of blue to Everton's is still valid - as mentioned Everton have also had red in their home shirts before.

Also, you say it's amazing that no one is discussing the 'over-fussy' crest - maybe because you're in the minority here and most people are fine with the modern badge with Shankly gates and Hillsbrough flames?

Fact is, this is a decent kit with a bold colour scheme - some will like it, some won't, but for me it really is only a third kit with a bit of cyan on it, it's really not something that will make me angry.

On the crest, maybe its because of the blue on it, and that that is the major issue? And those kits from the old days were used when Liverpool was founded as a replacement for an Everton team that was kicked out of Anfield. The owners of Anfield even tried to name the new team Everton, but that was impossible, so they named the team Liverpool.

http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/history/timeline/1892-1917/liverpool-football-club-is-formed

http://historicalkits.co.uk/Liverpool/Liverpool.htm

The modern crest is way too fussy, and reduces the impact of the symbol of the club and the city on the shirt. The Liver bird looks better on its own.

http://www.truecoloursfootballkits.com/articles/liverpools-league-failures-%e2%80%93-all-down-to-the-badge

He puts it better than I ever could.

They could always put the gates on the back of the shirt under the collar, and the two flames by the liver bird, or on the sleeves. Keep the ornate crest for the merchandise, but the liver bird on the shirts.

And dude, the cuffs, the collar, the trim from the armpit to the collar and the adidas three stripes are all blue. Thats quite a lot.

Plus, this kit was commissioned a year/two years ago, and that was from the dark days of the old regime at Liverpool. Shows just how out of touch they were.

If the brass at Liverpool and adidas wanted to pay tribute to the first kit (which was Evertons kit which they had left behind after being booted out of Anfield, and which was worn by Everton for three years) then they should have gone the whole hog and made a blue and white halfed shirt, with the same shade of blue, not the one on the shirt. In effect, the blue on this shirt is paying tribute to Evertons early history and their Sixth ever kit, not Liverpools first ever kit, which was red.

I think it's brilliant, so what if theres the tiniest hint of 'bluee' on it. Does it really matter what colour we play in aslong as we win? We might even be the first team in merseyside to actually win something in blue and also it has an italian feel to it which in turn could see Aquilani actually feel more accustom to play in england and to his full potential

Champions of England x 9

Really nice kit, although I think the colour scheme is a bit random and not very liverpool-ish, as in there's always a bit of red on their shirts (other than in the badge), but blue trim? I've never associated Liverpool and blue.
Also, I hate when team badge colours are unnecessarily changed from their normal colours. There's no reason for this badge to be black.
All in all, smart as f**k kit that I'd love to see us in (with some colour changes here and there) if we weren't made by turd Macron.

I don't care what anyone says, this kit looks great. So what if it has cyan blue, adidas aren't paying tribute to other teams, just freshening up the current away and 3rd shirts. Good design and good use of colours. away/3rd kit we've had for years.

Adidas main problem is they seem to pay no regard or respect for club colours or traditional templates of away kits, anyway am I the only person who thinks Liverpool kits are ruined anyway by that shocking logo? Surely the liver-bird logo as in the old 70s and 80s shirts is much stronger on its own? Liverpool should have a yellow or white away kit only but not with blue in it? Adidas also devalue the kits by changing the colour or limiting the colour palet in the Chelsea and Liverpool badges on away kits, whats that about? Adidas have become a useless kit supplier, end of.

All you retards must have forgotten that Liverpool's original colors were Light Blue and White. Great shirt. Annoying to see Liverpool fans react badly to this, when it's clearly a homage to their early years. If Liverpool has a glorious history, any reference to it should be embraced, not disgraced.

What a pathetic lot scousers are.

Reflecting on historical kits is fine, so if thats the case why isnt the kit an exact copy of that historical style then? Basing it on a kit from 1892 is a long way back to excuse the colours.

Absolute joke. As a Liverpool fan, I can't believe they incorporated blue or as they like to call it 'cyan' into a LIVERPOOL shirt. Apart from the fact it has blue on it, the shirt looks nice but wouldve looked much better with any other colour e.g. Green, grey, yellow, red

This kit is a tribute to the 100 years of topflight football Liverpool's city neighbours Everton have achieved! A very fine fitting tribute!!!!!! We appriciate it guys, we feel the love, but some how I can't see us with a white and red away kit next season. We wouldn't take things that far, haha!

Come on show me some love now y'all!!!!!

On the official posters it looks silly the way they've forced the 9 to look like an O.

i have to admit i would have preferred a yellow top with red, like back in the 80's .... but it really is a nice top so i can live with the cyan.

Incidently, being from Scotland, my 1st club team is Heart Of Midlothian and would be outraged if we brought an away kit out with Green in it seeing as our city rivals are Hibernian. .... So i can kind of understand the comments from Pool fans.

NEVERMIND....KING KENNY'S BACK SO LET'S JUST ENJOY THE SHOW :)

3rd kit for the club which never walk alone should be white
and from FC liverpool's crest should be taken green strip
with printed in it famous slogan “YOU’LL NEVER WALK ALONE” and stik on club's jersey's left and right arms 3 times running down the sleeves. Shorts should be white as well, with green strips with same words 3 times running down.
Accordingly FC liverpool will walk with adidas and millions
of suporters around the world to more premier leag and uefa titles.
