This is what we believe to be the new Manchester City home shirt for the 2011/2012 English Premier League season manufactured by Umbro.
The shirt looks to be in a darker shade of blue than previous Umbro MCFC shirts. Logo colours have also gone darker with the Umbro and Eithad logos going from white to black from the past season.
On the front of the shirt is appears to be a lot of dots which towards the top of the shirt are in a wave design which supposedly represents the sound wave the crowd make while singing the City anthem 'Blue Moon'.

I'm just waiting for the day when clubs start bringing out a brand new kits for every match, or maybe every half of every match. Idiots would still buy them.
The dots on the shirt dont really look that nice, and the shade of blue (though it might just be the light, Sky blue is one of those colours that can look great in one light and awful in a photo) is not that nice. After many seasons playing in a horrible lazer blue, Reebok introduced an almost perfect shade, why change it for a worse one if this shade is the true one and not a trick of the light?
That collar is not doing the shirt any favours at all. This is a step back for Man City home shirt wise.

The material is a huge step back from the past two seasons' uber-comfy material.. And I guess the away jersey is waaaaaaay better than this. I don't know what umbro was thinking, really.

I love a lot of those classic shirts, but at least update them in some way. Add something modern and interesting so the kit doesn't look exactly like a 30 year old rag found in a closet.
The grey on the sides also doesn't go well with the rest of the jersey.
Maybe ManCity should have stuck with last season's home jersey, which seemed to be both classy and modern all at once.

LCS did make a few classics, the wine red with white pinstripes number based on an old FA cup final shirt, and the home kit with white pinstripes. Most of the LCS kits for Man city were not the best, mostly because of the Electric lazer blue that was used then.

Probably not as nice as the previous two, but still looks better than a lot of new ones coming through (Barcelona away for instance).

When you look at what umbro have released so far for the new season, such as the awesome new Forest kit, this one is going all the way back to 1995. I don't think Umbro or City would want this guff on display.........surely?
