Newcastle United 11/12 Puma Home Shirt Leaked

This is reportedly the new Newcastle United home shirt for the 2011 - 2012 English Premier League season produced by Puma.

The shirt looks set to be one of the more unusual designs worn at home by the Magpies in their history.

The stripes which seemingly draw inspiration from the club's crest, are cut but the Northern Rock sponsor logo. The puma logo is now gold and has been moved to the shoulder area on the shirt. The sleeves lose their stripes from last years effort from Puma and sees the shirt seemingly adopt a small collar.

Thanks to Boki

If there were two stripes added- one to each side of each stripe, then the torso without the sleeves would be saved. But the sleeves are mainly what kills it! The sleeves make it look like a cheapy phony replica from the 99 cent store!
I hope it is a fantasy football design!

The sleeves are a bit too Arsenal-esque for my tastes. Had the sleeves been made black and the sleeve trim made white, I'd think it was fantastic. A welcome change of pace for a couple of seasons, like Arsenal's shoulder stripes or Barca's half-and-half shirt.

Good grief. Different, I suppose, as there's only so much you can do with a striped shirt, which is why all experiments such as this invariably fail.

A lot of people on here will disagree, but i think this is a neat move by Puma! Its different, i'm bored of the same old kits, look at our home shirt this season, and then from the season before, the same apart form the swap of adidas to puma! This as a classy and retro look to it, whilst maintaing the Puma esque african like kits, we saw at the world cup. Its only a leak, could be fake !

Carlos's comment about the racing stripes is pretty close to the truth - these look like the double stripes that are currently going diagonally across Puma shirts in honour of the Johan Cruyff '74 Holland shirt. Must say though, I think it's an interesting shirt, and certainly an improvement on this season's rather dull strip. A little change every now and again is a good thing.

I don't know why people are hating this! Personally I love the stripes, and how the sponsor fits right in (just imho, I don't universally hate sponsors).

Only complaint: If the golden puma logo is on the shoulder, which I like, the club badge should be higher up, or better yet, in the middle above the sponsor.

Let's see how many thumbdowns I am getting...

Personally I think this is a really nice shirt, NUFC home shirts have been pretty bland for the last few years. Same stripes as the crest, crew neck and ringer sleeves - nice.

Its simple and classy, I could see me wearing this for job interviews, court appearances or just when out looking for prositutes.

Everyone who hates this needs to think again
This is not Newcastle's greatest ever kit, but black and white stripes have limited options. Im getting tired of the same style kits every year, so i'm actually liking this shirt!
The badge needs sorting out, its not centred and doesn't look right, but still, i will be buying this.

These comments are brilliant. Half of them are from obsessed Mackems. You inbreds are fashionistas now? My criteria for a Newcastle shirt is thus: Black and white stripes: Check. Newcastle United crest: Check. As long as the lads smash you lot 5-1 again, I don't care about the other bells and whistles Puma want to stick on. Current kit was panned, people now like it. Banana-man kit was panned, we won nearly every game we played in it. I do hope we get a classic in the future, but I'll show my support whatever Puma chuck at us until they go away.

I think this in gen... This design is in Puma's 2011/12 shirt catalogue in a number of colourways. This seasons shirt was straight out of the 2010 powercat range (Sunday Pub league shirts!) and the leaked pictures ended up being genuine, so I doubt this is faked mock up. It's not that bad, but I wish we had umbro again. The simple classy designs of WBA's (and even the mackems...) shirts recently would look amazing in black & white. I wonder what stomach churning colour we'll have for the away kit? We've had some shockers recently....

Either Love it....Or hate it....

Personally, if it is the end product....Then I Love it....

We will never be a middle of the Road kinda Club....So why have a middle of the road, piss borin Strip that basically looks like the one before it??....

My only criticism is that The Club Crest should be placed wholly on the black stripe....Overlapping onto the white stripe makes it look lop-sided....

Well done, Puma....the Adidas strips were becomin boring....A very welcome change....

Oh, and as Someone has already said.....Let's have the same stripes on the back, eh??....Don't like the big black patch or last season's big white patch on the back....

the puma logo on the shoulder ruins it completely. Although the Newcastle badge itself is pretty hideous....

The worst part is the black ring around the end of the sleeve... without that it wouldn't be THAT bad

At least it's original. Newcastle have had the same type kit for a few years now, and I'm getting bored. It isn't our best, but it's refreshing to say the least

Looking at the position of the Puma logo and the club badge I would suggest this is nothing but a decoy to thwart counterfeiters etc.

If not then its one for sorrow I'm afraid!

Nice to see all the miserable haters out in force. Same blokes hated the 2009, 2010 kits too. Just a pack of losers looking for some space to whine. Oh, and if you don't follow Newcastle, take your opinion and piss off back to your mom's basement.

It could be worse, but to be fair it is a weird looking design, looks more like a black cross on our torso??

I dont believe this to be the true design, as why are we not offered a view of the back? Surely thats something u wouldnt forget, if u are to release the "leaked" images

It looks like a white t shirt with a black Northern Rock sponsored crucifix as the t shirts design, then with a black waistcoat/cardigan over the top of the t shirt! Great if you are a vicar!
This is truly one of the worst designs I have ever seen!

As long as we get rid of ht eshitty northern rock "sticker" and go back to the proper embroided crest i will be happy, Puma are shit and the shirt quality is awful i want addidas back! my last seasons shirt looks in better nick than this seasons, puma = tacky and cheap, i bet they cost about 50p each to make! Certainly will not be buying another Puma top!

They need to line up the Puma logo with the crest. While I'd be fine with a basic black and white stripes, this isn't too bad. The white sleeves and addition of gold remind me of Shearer's last kit.

That said, what the heck is with Puma and screwy collars? What on earth is going on with that collar design, it looks torn

away kit and 3rd kit dull and plain.
